The LG election is waste of money and time, instead of the ruling party to waste money on election and still win all the local government areas. They should just put their candidates and forget election, that's the reason LG chairmen are just sit down the look .No performance ,No Authority . 2 Likes |

Is it not better that those states emulate Anambra that conducts LG elections once every eight years than continue deceiving themselves? That's why Anambra people are very comfortable with APGA, come rain, come shine. |

there's no system of government that will fit Nigeria until political leaders and followers change their attitude and perception about public office. because for ten Nigerians looting the treasury, there are millions out there wishing and waiting for their turn |

Chirowman: actually, the law (constitution) could bail them out. the constitution empowers each state through their electoral institutions to conduct LG elections, which Stifles credibility. have you ever been aware of a LG election in your state of residence? have you ever participated? |

it's obvious the problems of this country in this democracy era is fundamental. The local govt is very essential, it's what births effective development and growth. there is a popular saying that 'you grow from the bottom to the top' but in my country, the reverse is the case. Credible and good leadership also emanates from the local govt. but that can't be achieved if governors only install those loyal to them and not the people. amend the 1999 constitution pls, let the LG be autonomous and let INEC alone conduct their elections. how many people here have ever participated in a LG election b4? cos I haven't been aware of any! |

Odoogu:are you a party member? Of you are you will know when election holds Who will amend it. Ruling parties will not. So try and win governorship or presidency Oh and BTW No govt is essential to growth and development Only private sector is Govt is jus a parasite that adds no value instead takes away from |
