Sometimes, you may be feeling trapped in a job that overworks you and hardly gives you enough benefits. Time has shown some professionals that quitting the job in such a situation, is never a good idea.

When you are feeling overwhelmed working a particular job, it is better to map out a plan first, then implement that plan, to protect yourself.

Your plan should be centered on landing a better job before resigning from the one that drains you.

These days, applying for jobs, should also include getting to know as many people as possible in the industry you are skilled at.

Use the resources open to you at your current job to execute your plan.

Lingo Africa once advised a contract worker at a Nigerian bank, to talk to his high network individual (HNI) customers about possible job opportunities, since his contract with the bank was almost coming to an end.

He spoke to people for about six months, and before his contract tenure was up, he got another job, courtesy of one of his HNI customers.

Don't quit any job, before landing another one. Be wise!

Nice advice. But, sometimes, the job will so hold you down that you can never get another one until you quit it. All in all, one has to tread carefully.

What of jobs that take a whole lot of your time that you don't even have time for yourself, talk less of having time to browse your phone, read newspaper for jobs or hunt jobs physical

Fear of the unknown has killed so many dreams and ideas.
Leave that comfort zone before it's too late.

Most of the white collar jobs gets you stucked to a 7am to 7pm routine, pays you just enough to live for anoda pay day, waste your youthful and employable age, drain you mentally, physically and psychologically.

The moment you choose to settle for less than you deserve, you get even less than what you settle for.

There's a popular saying that you can't be rich working for another man or doing a 6 to 6 job. Maybe unless you're the manager of a multinational company.

Get that skill, offer that service, pursue that idea, startup dat biz in ur head, secure that visa, network and make dos connections.

Children don't inherit your salary, dey inherent company's and properties.

Bonus:
Leave this country. grin

All opinions are welcome. However, what we said remains true. If you hold a bad job, make use of whatever resources that bad job has and get a better opportunity for yourself. No matter how bad a job is, there must be something you can use as a stepping stone to something better.

It can be free internet, connections, government hook-ups, or direct access to information on visas and relocation.

Good luck!

Very sound and logical advise.

One thing people don't know is that, not everybody will be an entrepreneur, self employed or self skilled and self sufficient.
People must work for people hence the private sector and the public sector.
If everybody becomes an entrepreneur, who will patronize the other?
Who will be the teacher?
Who will be the banker and pilot?

If entrepreneurship works for you, fine and very good for you.

Do what ever gives you income, comfort and maximum utility and self worth.
