The Presidency has explained why pigeons released during the Armed Forces Remembrance Day ceremony refused to fly

President Muhammadu Buhari’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina said the pigeons could not fly because they have been kept in a cage for a very long time.

As a mark of peace, the president usually released white pigeons from a cage during the Armed Forces Remembrance Day ceremony.

But during the 2021 edition of the ceremony, the pigeons refused to fly after Buhari released them from their cage.

This drew negative reactions from Nigerians who described the development as a bad luck.

Imagine such a watery excuse. Pigeons refused to fly simply because Buhari means opposite of everything they symbolises. Why was it that among all the past presidents of Nigeria, it was only the lifeless Buhari that the pigeons he released refused to fly. If Adesina has a little sense left in him he would read meaning into these and realize that the evil regime he is part of has been rejected by God, humans and animals and karma awaits them sooner than later
