I would love to use this medium to enquire from graduates- first class in particular; the possibility of graduating from the faculty of engineering without getting a good job within 2 years. People with experience should also specify the possibility when the graduate is from the various departments in engineering. Thanks.

80% possibility because the Nigerian unemployment market doesn't recognize people by their class of degree. It majorly recognizes them by their social class and what they've built for themselves.

Start building yourself beyond your academic abilities. Look for practical experiences, internships, volunteering opportunities. Find out how to convert your skills into that thing the local engineer does that gives him money. Explore other areas aside engineering: project management, IT, HR etc. Just broaden your horizon and explore. Be that person that can stand in all kinds of weather and above all, be prayerful. With all these, I don't think anybody first class or no first class can be unemployed.

You cannot graduate from civil engineering in this present Nigeria and remain jobless regardless of your grade except you are daft and dumb.

The best course now is either medical courses or computer science. I am meeting undergraduate computer science students that already earn over 2000 USD monthly from 2 to 3 remote jobs.

If you are thinking your first class degree will set you apart from others, I will say there is a 100% chance that you will be jobless or underemployed.

The last thing that determines you being gainfully employed in this Buhari Nigeria is your class of degree.

Your connection, money (to buy a job), location (major states and cities in Nigeria) are what determines you being gainfully employed.

Merit has been thrown to the thrash since you were in 100 level.
