BREAKING: South-west Govs Ban Open Grazing by happney65: 7:53pm On Jan 25, 2021
Governors of the South-West on Monday banned all forms of open grazing in the region.

The decision was taken today when the governors met with the leadership of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria as well as security chiefs.

Some of the governors in attendance include Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State, Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State, Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State, Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Mohammed Abubakar of Jigawa State, and Abubakar Bagudu of Kebbi State.

Giving a report after the meeting, Makinde said, “Today, the South West governors held a security stakeholders’ meeting in Ondo State. The meeting was attended by our brother governors from Kebbi and Jigawa States; security chiefs, South West zone led by the AIG Zone 11 and leaders from the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria.

“Collectively, we resolved to ban open grazing in all parts of the South-West. In Oyo State, we already have a law against open grazing which will continue to be implemented by our security agencies.

I restated that we will not permit criminality as a response to criminal actions. Instead we will continue to support our security agencies to do their duties. Also, we will work with our people to face our common enemies – the criminals; kidnappers, armed robbers and bandits.”

The PUNCH had earlier reported that the rising cases of kidnapping and sundry crimes in the region had been linked to the activities of criminal elements who infiltrated herdsmen in their host communities.

Details later…

Miyetti Alla can take their cows to the North and graze from Sokoto to Maiduguri.
In fact I offer them Sambisa forest as open grazing field, instead of them causing confusion in another mans land

Good one... but the question here is, how are they going to enforce it without any further escalation of the situation at hand
Re: BREAKING: South-west Govs Ban Open Grazing by Sirjamo: 8:08pm On Jan 25, 2021
Fulani cannot be allowed to continue staying in the forests, they either move to town, rent houses like normal people or relocate to Sambisa.

Any Fulani that has two heads should carry cows and enter people's farmland and be destroying things now.

You sell one mature cow for 250,000 - 350,000 but can't take small change out of the money to buy feeds for your cattle. It's to be entering people's farms and be destroying things and you think your Allah is happy with that. Wicked beings

When Makinde banned Open grazing

The very next day, Fulani herdsmen were grazing openly in front of police station at Elebu.

They need to grow some balls.

Meanwhile, their leaders want to be in the good books of the Fulanis because of 2023, so they have to trade their people for the imaginary presidential shot.

Na only Tinubu dem sabi shout for here.

They have not signed anything to now.

It is still more of lip service

Besides, how will ban on open grazing put an end to farmer herdsmen crisis and kidnapping?

It is just silly symbolic gesture.

If it is signed into law.It will put an end to farmer herdsmen crises.. The crises they have due to their cows invading their lands which has been in place for a long time..It is a first step.. As for Kidnapping, the security agencies are to be more proactive. But these people are the president's children, and the president do not seem to care

Buhari is the major problem. A terrible error of 2015 and an irreparable colossal damage of 2019. Nothing positive can happen in this country until the dead man in Aso rock is chased out. Buhari must go.
