It'll surely curb crime or at least help to crack crimes to some extent.

What Nigerians are asking for is that the registration points be decentralised and seamless

They told us BVN will stop kidnapping, 419 and corruption. Pls how far has that gone? What benefit will accrue to due to NIN registration that makes u say "Nigerians are asking for registration points be decentralised and seamless"?

That's a fat lie mr pantami, spare me that bullshit.Nin linkage with sim cards ain't going to curb any crime.

How do you even combat crime when their is massive poverty in the land? Naija criminals are one of the smartest they must always find ways to bypass any hurdle.I won't be surprised to see people selling sim cards already linked with nin on the streets, Nowadays some kidnappers use phones like the thuraya satellite phone to collect huge ransoms, the thuraya has its own network, untraceable and untrackable, not even advanced police equipments can track it.
That thuraya cannot be tracked is not true, unless the police is not ready to track, there is no communication medium that can't be tracked, a satellite network is the easiest to track, if you wish to know.

Criminals will form syndicates which government would not able to fight.
Criminals can be tracked with Thuraya but it is very expensive to do.

Re: Isa Pantami: NIN Registration Will Help To Curb Crime by banio: 7:39pm On Jan 28, 2021
NIN will certainly help if the government has thinking HEADS. But from what I see, the NIN is just a formality. Imagine, the procedure and process to get enrolled, So cumbersome. How then will they be able to have or make use of the NIN for crime prevention and tracing without this the same cumbersomeness or even bigger bottle necks.

Leaders need to be phylosophers and thinkers, not these sets of useless .....

Re: Isa Pantami: NIN Registration Will Help To Curb Crime by 2shaw: 7:45pm On Jan 28, 2021
Its true partly cos if you look at sim registration after sometime your line will be deactivated then you have to buy another sim or do replacement at any umbrella road side agent, plus most ppl input false info, non existing contact addresses especially on their sim registration. But now with NIN,its the mark of the beast. Hahahahahaha

Re: Isa Pantami: NIN Registration Will Help To Curb Crime by ceaser: 7:57pm On Jan 28, 2021
I wonder how it will fully eradicate kidnapping by Fulani herdsmen. Maybe crimes by citizens of the country but definitely not that commited by aliens such as the herdsmen.

Security reports say that the herdsmen actually go into places like Niger Republic and Benin Republic to buy SIM cards and use roaming to communicate with Nigerian numbers using those SiM numbers.

That's how the US was able to liaise with Niger Republic to rescue her citizen that was kidnapped in Niger and brought into Nigeria for ransom negotiations.

Except Benin Republic and our other neighbouring countries are prepared to exchange security information of mobile phone users among their citizens with Nigeria, I don't see how SIM registration is gonna address this.

You do not have technology to track thuraya in your country does not mean it cannot be tracked elsewhere. Anything can be tracked but who will pay.

who do you know as criminals, those in power are called professional what? for your informational I pity those that rejoice in this Sham Registration because when you see it unfold bit by bit don't be surprise, they want to make free speech a crime when they are busy commitng atrositties, they want to make more money upon any nigerian person whereby imposing direct and indirect tax on everyone, also actualise their evil plan by those that sponsor them internationally, africa, Nigeria wake up from your slumber, evil now prevail in this generation, but God is still on his throne, he will vindicate us!

This is a good step to start with.
But We still need longer extension for the February 9th deadline.
This should take atleast 180 days for all Nigerians to be able to register and get their NIN.
But overall, with this NIN, we are on the pathway to a great nation.
This is one of the first thing that made developed nation what they are right now.
Criminals are all afraid already.
Slow and steady we will get there.
God bless Nigeria.

lol . Not what you think, actually many southerners are the ones perpetrating these cybercrimes. Northerners are only concerned with killing and stealing phones to sell which has nothing to do with Nin tracking.
