The Chairman and CEO of SEAMAN Group of Companies, High Chief @Emeka Agbanari on Thursday doled out the sum of 7 million naira to support 140 indigent students of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.

Awarding the scholarship to deserving students, Agbanari noted that he was moved to ameliorate the plight of these students who are constrained by paying their tuition owing to the crippling effect of COVID-19 pandemic after being prompted by the Students Union Government President, Comrade Samuel Jude.

The Benefactor maintained that the importance of Education cannot be overemphasized hence his commitment towards lending support to the indigent.

Addressing the students, the philanthropist equally urged them to alongside their studies, identify relevant skills to augment their knowledge. According to him, jobs are scarce but one's skills can always sustain the individual.
He averred that his goodwill was borne out of his covenant with God to be of immense blessing to humanity.

While commending the Vice-Chancellor on the rapid developments in the University, Chief Agbanari further assured the institution of his continued support.

Earlier in his remark, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Charles Esimone, FAS commended the benefactor for what he described as towing the path of honour. While praising the efforts of the Students' leader in attracting the Scholarship award, Prof. Esimone urged the beneficiaries to count themselves privileged and study hard to justify the financial aid.

Also, the Dean of Students Affairs, Professor Chinonso Achebe expressed gratitude to the benefactor for the timely succour to the students.

In his remarks, the SUG President, Comrade Jude showered encomiums on the benefactor for accepting the Union's request in ameliorating the plight of the students even at short notice.
