ValCon888: You are partially wrong. Presently, your analysis is right. The power and control of CDS over Service Chiefs are dependent on the Commander In chief. Under Obj, late Victor Malu undermined Admiral Ogohi the CDS, he was reported to TY Danjuma the Minister of Defence. This eventually led to the sack of Malu with other Service Chiefs. Under Jonathan, Alex Barde was fully in Charge. Other Service Chiefs including Ihejerika the COAS were under him. Alex Barde was everywhere. Perhaps, this was because he was formerly the Chief of Air Staff and more importantly Northerner. If Olonisakin had served as CDS under Obasanjo, Buratai would not have been so powerful the way he is under a Northerner Commander In Chief. Under a Northerner President, every Southerner that is given appointment is indirectly subjected to the authority of an immediate junior northerner below him. The same scenario also happened at Petroleum Ministry, the M.D. of NNPC a Northerner is more powerful than Minister of State for Petroleum a Southerner. If the Minister of State for Petroleum were to be a Northerner and M.D. of NNPC a Southerner, the M.D. of NNPC can never have access to the President. The Southerners know all these facts. The present Southern Youths cannot accept this injustice, that is why there is a growing tension in the Southern Nigeria. The various cult groups may end up as militants in future against the North. 6 Likes |

I disagree with you. General Dambazua is one of the most educated, intelligent and disciplined COAS NA has ever had. I'm talking from experience bro solmusdesigns: |

Judolisco:In Nigeria I can’t remember when last a joint mission was carried out . The boko haram operation is meant to be a joint army/Air Force mission but right from Jonathan’s era the collaboration never worked with both army and the Air Force opting to operate independently 1 Like |

Springboot: The guy did not spill rubbish online. Obasanjo appointed Azazi, while Jonathan appointed Ihejerika. The Commander In Chief in both cases are not herdsmen. |
