The attention of the Oyo State Police Command has been called to the news circulating in a section of the media with the above headline.

The true position of this is that no such incident happened and no such magnitude of houses and cars were burnt at Odo-Osun/Ita bale/Aderogba areas of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

What really happened was that hoodlums from these areas came out in the early hours of 29/01/2021, in their usual manner, with dangerous weapons to loot shops and set up bonfires. A house and about two shops were looted. But the swift response of Police patrol teams doused tension and the hoodlums were dislodged.

Routine patrols were intensified to forestall further attacks and lootings. Sequel to this, at about 2015 hrs, the hoodlums from Aderogba area came out again and attempted to vandalize and loot shops at Beyerunka/Ogbori Efon areas. Police patrol teams and those of Amotekun were drafted to the area. During a hot chase by the teams, a cut-to-size dane gun was recovered from one of the hoodlums while bonfires set up were put out.

The hoodlums thereafter fled the scene.

Constant routine patrols have been intensified in those areas and normalcy has been restored. The Police are on the trail of these hoodlums to get them arrested and carry out prosecution accordingly.

With the latest events in Nigeria, following the crowds could be disastrous..

Shame on all those wishing war to happen in any of the SW states including the Acclaimed NL Omoluwabi, that expected a miscreant like Igboho to lead a war he wasn't appointed for.

They are not Omoluwabi but instead Omoburuku Onijagidijagan

Yeah. The wise intelligent move Seyi makinde used in quelling the war monger last week really pained those people ,There wish was for Seyi makinde to support Ighoho and this same set of people will come back again and use it against him and start saying his government is government of thugs supporting rascality . But alas , The guy wise ,He openly condemned it and they were all ashamed.

If 200 houses were actually burnt, it would have been a major headline na..it was obviously an exaggerated story.

Some of these news platforms need to be checked!

But some people are swallowing those lies.

Same Sahara reported about 10 acres of cashew farm burnt, all grace FP on NL.

It seems critical thinking is challenging to some Nigerians youths

It's time each state made laws to punish any useless publication or media (whether online or print) that promote or report unverified information about the state; especially one that might incite tension and/or unrest.
All news of unrest come from certain elements who wishes war in the south west for political gain but God will shame all of them. They will all be defeated and embarrassed. They are losers and fvcked up.
As for Sahara Reporter, they have sunk so deep the blue sea like the person of their owner and CEO that no good thing can be expected to come out of them by any well thinking Nigerian.
