UNIBEN Announces February 1 Resumption Date, Makes Facemasks Compulsory by State001: 2:33am On Feb 01
Following the approval of the Edo state government for schools in the state to resume academic activities February 1, the University of Benin has asked students to return to campus same day .

Schools across the country were shut down for months owing to the coronavirus pandemic coupled with the recently suspended nine-month old ASUU strike which disrupted academic activities.

Although UNIBEN had earlier announced January 30 as resumption date, the Edo government halt the process owing to COVID-19 scare despite the federal government earlier giving the nod for schools to reopen January 18.

In another statement made available to CAMPUS GIST on Tuesday, however, the UNIBEN management announced February 1 as the resumption date for the 2019/2020 academic session.

Endorsed by the University spokesperson, Dr. Benedicta Ehanire, the statement directed students to come into the halls of residence on February 1, as lectures, both physical and online, will commence immediately.

Dr. Ehanire said only students with official receipts of payment of school charges, who have successfully filled, submitted and printed a mandatory on-line questionnaire would be allowed into halls of residence and lecture theatres.

She added that students residing in the school hostels are expected to bring along, at least, five pieces of washable face mask and two 5mls vials of hand sanitisers each.

The spokesperson said staff members and students are to constantly wear their face masks, as the COVID-19 protocols would be strictly enforced by the university.

“The Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Lilian Salami, on behalf of management, looks forward to welcoming all students to campus for a more fulfilling academic session,” Ehanire added.

Meanwhile, the University management insists that the earlier announced Academic Calendar remains unchanged as on-line and physical classes will fully commence immediately.

The 2019/2020 academic session first semester is expected to run from February 1 until the 1st of April, 2021, while second semester is billed to commence on April 5, 2021.

UNIBEN under the leadership of Prof. Lilian Salami as vice chancellor says it is committed to ensuring the provision of quality education to students “without compromising on our collective safety.”

School is resuming today but you just made the announcement today?

How do you enforce covid protocols in over populated hostels - will they say boys should give 6 ft distance when boiling their beans? grin grin

How do you enforce covid protocols at the various bukas?

How do you enforce covid protocols in lecture halls especially all those GSTs?

Revelation2021:

so you don't really know the covid-19 you are running away from is actually this mask you are talking about here,

go and read the bible scriptures very well and you will see that this mask is actually the mark of the beast.

mask/mark

the bible said for whoever that shall accept this mark shall be thrown into the lake of fire!

the world powers have been decodedly pushing this mask issues to the whole world by force.

even forcing different country president to make it available for all the people they govern.

just recently buhari has signed compulsory face mask to be worn by every citizen of this country

don't you think this is what the bible prophesied about?

the mark of the beast is actually the mask you put on,
and with time this mask will convert the oxygen you breath in to simple covid-19 virus we all have been running from.

the world powers are forcing this mask on us so they sell this their anti-covid19 medicines and vaccines

please all citizens should not agree with this for this is end time prophesy.

that mask you actually wear everyday is actually that great mark of the beast.

please you all should take note
but it is said the LORD will protect his people in this hard times

so you expect these kids to wear mask the whole day from hostels to lecture halls and back to hostel again.

even in the crowded hostel they still have to wear mask 247. let's see how this works

In this era of rising covid19 rates, inviting students to return to school for in class instruction is risky. Data released by Nigeria CDC showed rising increase in covid19 all over 36 states . And Nigeria is not a country that can solve unexpected problems if it happens . That poses risks for all students and staff

That is why I support in classrooms instruction for k12 students but definitely not for university students. University students are adults and can learn online with little or no help.

K12 is really a place where face-to-face instruction is needed. A 5 year old child needs teachers showing them how to add , subtract, multiply and so on. And they also need interaction with teachers and classmates to learn how to ask questions and get answers.

WHO [world health organization] issued a study about a year ago that suggested rate of transmission of covid19 among teenagers is lower in teens than in adults.

Have Nigerian authorities read that report?

So, I hope schools in Nigeria which are ready to reopen should revisit their decisions. Better to be safe than to be sorry

please sir,
this is not a joking matter

this things needs to be shown to the world that there is a big lie behind this mask they are forcing us to be wearing everyday

the reason i knew was when i read in the bible,
in those days no man shall be able to sell or buy without the mark of the beast.

go to the bank you must wear a nose mask,
even markets and churches you will still wear it.

this mask you are seeing is actually the great mark of the beast,
