Vaccines are considered alternative medicine and only prescribed where a disease outbreak is endemic due to social factors.

Rather than address the social factors that lead to disease outbreak such as poverty, illiteracy, malnutrition and absence or lack of clean water plus proper sanitary conditions, the African leaders sees vaccines as a quick and cheap solution to healthcare. Vaccines do not erradicate the disease pathogen from the environment, they allow one to live side by side with it without falling ill. This is akin to sweeping the dirt under the rug in your room and telling yourself you have done some cleaning .

The pic below elaborates why vaccines are not in anyway a solution .
