Foreign oil majors have ripped Nigeria apart for over 6 decades! These are companies that have sponsored coups and wars in Nigeria but Nigerians don't know. Their presence here is the main reason the NNPC is an eyesore. Most of these oil companies, together with their home governments are responsible for sponsoring Nigerias war machine during the Nigeria-Biafra war and have different secret agreements with the army officers that played major roles in that war. This explains why western countries prefer brutal dictators masquerading as democrats to hold sway in Nigeria. Most of the joint venture agreements favor the foreign companies! Half of whatever Nigeria earns from oil in a day goes to these companies! Irekefe panel in the early 80s established the fact that in most pump stations, there are no metering of any sort. Essentially, oil companies will load oil into oil tankers and then quote figures to the Nigerian government through the ever comatose NNPC!

This only happens in Nigeria! Not even in Kuwait or Libya will this happen.. Countries basically under western control! Part of the reason why western governments only make "silent noises" about government brutality in Nigeria is because of this reasonn! They need brutal tyrants to hold down restive youths do the oil companies can suck dry! A CIA report once stated that an African country produces more than double the amount of oil that is declared on daily basis! And that can only be Nigeria, since the report came before Angola joined oil exploration big time. Let's not go into deliberate environmental degradation unleashed by these evil imperialist companies on poor oil communities.., it's the worst in the whole wide world! I just hope that someday in our lifetime, a very hot headed president will take the fight to this oil companies for recruiting the worst of our kind, making them rulers over us and using their greed and lust for power to loot a generation bare..

No be lie.

My eyes opened after reading "the confessions of an economic hitman". I started seeing things in the right perspective.
These multinationals are tools of the West with active support from our elites who have been made to benefit a little from the plunder.

If the EFCC can jail an incumbent Inspector General of Police, nobody is untouchable.

The only problem with the EFCC is that the legislature has refused to strengthen the antigraft agency so it can even try former presidents.

What about the govt that refuses Chevron from building the largest reginery in Africa because they did not settle?

Sigh. I was moved to tears just reading what you've written. As in Libya, as in Nigeria. The day Nigerians will revolt against whoever is in power, America and Britain will act to make it look like they're restoring peace while finishing off the economy permanently. Libya never recovered. Its all about the oil.

Exactly ,when you tell people that whites are still responsible majority of Africas problem ,some white ass lickers will attack you,and tell you jaggons.

The Europeans ,France and all former colonial powers know that they must still hold on to power in other sustain the wealth of their own countries.
The development of Africa is to their own detriment.

I don't blame them I blame Africans ,I blame our leaders especially .
All this happening is because we gave them a chance .

All the foreign aids , which are slowly crippling the economy.
Till every black man knows that an average white man is not your friend,we won't get things right.

From the way people flock white people or even foreigners (Asians) treating them as though they are special will always give them opportunity to cheat us and take advantage of our foolishness.

I will tell you for free and this is 101% truth.
one biggest project in entire African nation is under construction here in Nigeria and over 300 "expatriates" from indians flew into the country just last weekend and now already at the site working with other members.

They were not quarantine for 14days as regards the Covid-19 protocol for arrivals. I do not know how they pull that stunt but Imagine what risk Nigeria has exposed her citizens to.

I was close to one of the indians middle top management and he once told me "Nothing is impossible in Nigeria" that statement keeps ringing in my head till now.

This country is a total joke!

Gentleman be rational in your argument! it is abysal, inconsequential and very much provoking, irrational and unpragmatic to see intelligent sound minds dishing out on America and British for their self inflated pains as a result of the massive failure of their ancestors, fathers and themselves! I want to ask is it America that made Nigeria leaders irresponsible and unresponsive to the happening in Nigeria or any part of Africa? think about the Boko Haram created by the Northern elites and people through recklessness and carelessness of primary child education with the aid of Almajiri system because religion. What about the blood thirsty Alshabab in Somalia as a result of political gains! what does Somalia have? are you also going to blame America to the self allocated allocations to private pockets in the name of NNPC rebuilding or renovations or with a common sense you can't see beyond your nose that the war in Niger Delta is as a result of malicious greediness of Nigeria leaders or is the recent indictments of Godwill Akpabio and other officials stealing and syphoning billions of naira worth about 81 billions of naira from Niger Delta basket an America? or is Diezani Alison-Madueke an America? OK facts without fiction what will you say about the breaking of the oil pipes by hoodlums and hooligans in the Niger Delta areas as a result of political gains through Tompolo and Asari Dokumbo? are they Americans?

OK welcome to Libya yes America made a mistake by never loving Ghadaffi for political gains but America nor the West ever entered that war in any way in Libya for their oil, so please stop leaving on fantasy and conspiracy theories! because right now it is never America forces fighting in Libya rather the Forces of Russian backed Hafta and the Turkey and UN backed GNA. Or you talk about Syria that it is her own government of Bashar committing genocides on her people?

So my brother, the problem of Nigeria, Africa, and the Arab world is religion! love for politics and selfish kleptomaniac attitude! and not the Americans that help safed their citizens in the den of your Bandits! or the Americans that help subsidize your malaria, HIV/AID and STD medications or is the America that help gave 200 ventilators! 500 million dollars/and many more through world bank as recovery fund but end up in your egocentric politicians agbada? Please stop hating on America and the West by blaming yourself! leaders!! and religious fanatic country! I rest my case.

Nothing I wrote there exonerated the "black man". I mentioned local military officers/leaders and how they provide the violence needed to keep the engine of oppression and imperialism roaring.. I don't know what else you want me to say. If you felt I didn't beam enough light on that, you can do so...

What some of you easily forget is that this country was created by the "white man". He's the one that created this country, formed her civil service, army, police., Was the one that discovered oil and set up institutions that handled oil businesses and yes; it was the white man that used her superior war tools and military intelligence agencies to foist on the country, the kind of misfits that have led here most of the times!

Does the inability of the locals to find ways to shake off this external manipulations signal a lack of purposeful politics? Yes! Does such failure mean that the white man is innocent? No! I just stated the facts.., I'm not interested in exonerating some heinous thieves simply because I share the same skin color with them! Thieves are thieves whether White or Black...
