Beijing Winter Olympics 2022: countdown to one year, what can we expect?

The Winter Olympic Games in Beijing are scheduled for from February 4 to 20, 2022. It is not yet clear that COVID-19 will continue to affect the Winter Olympic Games.

On Tuesday (February 2), the meeting of heads of delegation of Beijing Winter Olympic Games was held in the form of video. Cai Qi, chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Winter Olympic Games, said that China's national Xi Jinping had asked for the "short, safe and wonderful" competition for the Winter Olympic Games and called the International Olympic Committee chairman Bach (Thomas Bach) to "jointly express the firm support for the Beijing Winter Olympic Games".



China China's novel coronavirus pneumonia quoted Bach as saying: "China has done well in coping with the new crown pneumonia epidemic. International Olympic Committee is confident that the Beijing Olympic Winter Games will be held successfully."



On the same day, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin stressed: "China takes the lead in controlling the epidemic situation in China and achieving economic recovery, creating favorable conditions for the smooth holding of the Beijing Winter Olympics.
