I want to root the phone for personal reasons.... That's the reason i bought it .

1. What's the Model of the Device?
2. Is The bootloader Unlocked?
3. Can the boot loader be Unlocked?
This details are very Important because Some Sammy Devices bootloader cany be unlocked. If its Unlockable and unlocked make sure the File you are using is the same region of what you have.

You ain't giving me any Info to work with so lemme just do this. first of all make sure the variant you are flashing infact wait fess are you trying to Install TWRP then root inside TWRP or you are Trying to Directly root it via download mode.
Just Simply Download TWRP for your device, Flash it via Odin then Install CF autoroot Via Recovery or Magisk. Make sure you Backup your data
what I mean with Variant is if its TMobile Download file for Tmobile if it's at&t or Verizon download For them.

you are wrong, I have an s7 with locked bootloader which can never be unlocked g935f single sim, I discovered it cant be unlocked when I tried converting it from single sim to dual sim.
