An emerging report reaching us is that four individuals who indulge in the planting of Indian Hemp have been arrested by the Joint Task Force of the Ondo State Ministry of Natural Resources in Ondo State.


It was gathered from Daily Post Newspaper that they were nabbed while preparing some parts of the forest reserve in the state capital Akure, ahead of the rainy season to engage in their illegal business.


Speaking on the arrested individual, the Director of the Joint Task Force of the Ondo State Ministry of Natural Resources, Alhaji Moshood Obadun stated that the offenders had already destroyed some forest resources in the reserve which include economic trees.


The State Commissioner for Natural Resources, Idowu Otetubi, expressed sadness over the issue. He warned that anyone flouting the restriction order on forest reserves across the state will be brought to justice.


Reacting to the arrest of the four Indian hemp farmers, the Commissioner said that they will be charged to court for prosecution.

This means they can arrest illegal herdsmen in the forest reserve
