The Rivers state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reacted to former minister Femi Fani-Kayode's meeting with some leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congres (APC).

Rivers PDP publicity secretary, Sydney Tambari, on Tuesday, February 9, said the former aviation minister is free to defect, according to PUNCH report.


Tambari said Fani-Kayode enjoys freedom of association, hence the reason his defection cannot come as a surprise.

He, however, said the minister has not officially forwarded his resignation of PDP membership to the national leadership of the party.

It would be recalled that Fani-Kayode on Monday, February 8, met with some APC leaders including Kogi state governor Yahaya Bello and Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state.

The meeting has since been generating massive reactions with many suggesting that the controversial former minister may be plotting a return back to the ruling party.
