Hello house , help needed urgently. I noticed my Toyota Camry 2001 model isn't selecting gear as it should be. When I checked , I noticed the speedometer isn't functioning n a mechanic told me that one socket got burnt. That it's d one responsible for the non selecting of the gear....need advice pls

You might have a vehicle speed sensor problem

Is ur check engine light on,if yes,run a scan.....am suspecting po500.... Ur VSS might be bad or d wire harness of d connector

Can you use another instrument cluster ( speedometer ) to experiment your car? I used to face this issue when i was using this camry. Very common problem for that camry

is it only the speedometer or all the gauges on the cluster

What happened to mine was that the speedometer, odometer, selection of gear and even I cant wind down glass. Everything locked. I called my rewire and he said it's one fuse and changed it and it's fine now.

Mine is the tachometer that's not working and gear is malfunctioning.
Although gear started the malfunction before the tach stopped working. I don't know how related it is...I use a '03 EOD.
Please any suggestions?
The gear issh is exhausting.
