China feels threatened and insecure of BBC reports on the way China handled the Covid 19 pandemic and allegations of systematic rape, sexual abuse and forced labor in the Xinjiang region, home to Uighurs and other predominantly Muslim ethnic groups.
They ain't threatened at all. The news have been making rounds for years and perhaps decades. Everyone knows that China is not liberal. The West have their own dirty laundry stemming from colonial days to meddling with political structure of less powerful countries especially Africa and Arab nations and raising and aiding terrorist organizations. It's a game of interest.

An average Western leader wishes to have the kind of control that Chinese leaders have over their citizens and that can only be achieved by communism.

It's better they adjust to the term early that China is not one of the African nations they can address or treat anyhow.

China was never a small nation.... Maybe less advanced in technology years ago, yes! But never a small country.

The UK ranks either the fifth or sixth in FDI inflows into China. And that's a lot of money into China from the UK.
Oga the record I checked ranked UK in the 9th position of FDI in China besides that, the UK will feel the impact more if there's a collapse of trade relationship between the two countries. UK needs China more than the Chinese needs them.

China is a country that rose to prominence by hard work, resilience and commendable strategic operations. The US tried a trade war with China and lost, Australia tried to pull some strings and found out that they lost before they commenced.
China's economic hold in the world is near irreplaceable at least in the next foreseeable future. You only need to visit the US and China to have a better understanding.

In reality, everybody knows Russia is a direct military and economic ally of The people's Republic. As for the US, it has never been tested by or faced a country in "top 10" in a blown war, one on one.

They have the most advanced air force and navy in the world, yeah. But on the ground, Chinese soil, if you know your onions, you can tell that the US isn't capable of facing China. Take the Afghan Talibans for example, were too much for American forces and allies in Afghanistan. Talibans mostly without bulletproof vests, and advanced weapons were seemingly too much to handle for American and allied troops, and let's not talk about Vietnam even.

For a longtime, you can't watch the BBC in China. BBC, CNN, Fox news, ABC, google, youtube, Facebook, twitter, Yahoo news.., every online western news portal is currently banned in China! I don't even know how the west tolorates that, especially when Chinese apps like tiktok and wechat are making waves in the western World. The Chinese even banned Skype and whatsapp!!! Once they don't like the liberal disposition of the western media outlets, the next action is to ban.. Running up to the olympics, all these websites were open in China! You can even watch critical youtube channels that rubbishes the Chinese government from China. But few months after the olympics, the Chinese clamped down on all of these sites with little or no protests from the west. The likes of CNN and MSNBC and BBC can only be viewed in very few public places like the hotels. Most times with permission. Individually, you have to use some sort of vpn to access any of the sites, otherwise, you have to make use of the Chinese sites or the few western sites not yet noticed by the Chinese....

The Chinese government knows how to control the messaging and is not ready to share the control of the people with any foreign entity. That's why the Trump presidency's arms twisting tactics against them must have proven a big deal in Beijing. I think most wetern governments over the last 40 years or so have gotten so used to the Chinese "queer" behavior on sundry issues and have looked the other way whenever these kinds of behavior are showcased. The Chinese are aware of this and have taken time to assert themselves strongly on issues they consider to be very important to safeguarding their national interests including curtailing the invasion of the Chinese society by foreign news organizations, with unrestricted broadcasting.. In so many ways this is good too. It helps the leadership of the country to steer the citizens along patriotic lines in a world in which the western powers have turned imperialism and subjugation as lethal tools for the pursuant of their overreaching foreign policy goals..
The BBC have a correspondent in Shanghai and Hong Kong. In fact, their business reporter is mainly reporting from Hong Kong. So, which one are you talking about BBC being banned in China? Can you ban and still give permits? The West have not come to realise that China is not one tiny enclave they can intimidate. All countries have interests and the west have their own interests far beyond their claim about Human rights and democracy. You cannot talk about both and be going to bed with the likes of Saudi Arabia and Co. When you listen to one side of an argument, you get one-sided views

Vietnam was a disaster bro, it's sad allied forces weren't able to do much to change the tides of the war, these Asians are truly terrible.

I take my turn in mourning the over 50,000 US soldiers that died in that war, away from home and hungry, not to talk of dead Australian special forces etc.

Politicians in West are internationalist sympathetic to communism. In fact, they are responsible for China growth. How did they achieve that? They simply started moving factories in the West to China along with proprietary technologies. Now, that Trump has gone, Biden is trying to repair that relationship. The goal of these globalist is a bigger communism, like the one in China. Everything has to do with controlling everyone .
With respect to the bolded part, If we were to compare communism in China and democracy in Nigeria, which would you choose?

A good note, but I wonder why you described the Chinese behavior as "queer"?

I thinks it's important we put this at the back of our mind that the 5 EYES are keen to maintain an imperial hold on the rest of the world. They use their information media and platform to control narratives, even an attempt at controlling our thoughts.

To the western powers, China and Russia are seemingly beyond the reach of their influence. And they are great rivals to western hegemony. In this sense, they have pivoted to East with all tricks in their tool box. More often you hear about Navalny poisoning, street protests in Russia and Belarussia; Uighur genocide, Hongkong protest. The western powers are desperately trying regime change in these places because they claim these countries are not democratic. But it's failing.

None of the powers like to talk about the horrendous war they have brought on Yemen. Saudi Arabia's undemocratic rule, Israel caging Palestine, and all other regime change attempts that have brought death and destruction.

The governing system in China is working. The people of China are happy with it. The system has brought immense development to the society.

Let the west leave the east to live in peace.
Thank you very well for this opinion. Navalny is someone that the west wants to use to return Russia to the 1990s, when Russia was a laughing stock. The then President wanted to be friends with the west. What was the outcome? They tried to engineer disintegration of Russia, until Putin came. And being a former KGB agent who served in the west, he understood them. He has consistently outplayed them. They think they can do and undo. China used to play coy with them but Xi Jinping is different.

A man who has fed himself full does not attend a banquet hungry. China has built itself high and lofty so much so that she can no longer be overlooked by the west. I wish Nigeria were doing the same thing. But No! Nigeria is interested in building cows than building human capacity, industries and fostering innovations.

Well, China has to response so as not to look weak. All Chinese phones have been baned in US. Even their biggest company Huawei have recently been added to the list of banned mobile Telecommunication industry.

Lack of trust is the major cause of the rift between this these countries. USA & UK dose not trust China. Even though many whites doesn't want to say it...they still believe the COVID-19 stuff was a deliberate act by the Chinese.

But Buhari has been acting more like a Dictator. Do you think when you give him more power he will do well?

Democracy is the best form of government among all the available choices. Even, a Theocracy, Government by the authority of the Divine like Iran and Saudi is suffocating their people. The people can not think, talk or behave like humans. The government wants to control everything about them.

Maybe you should try North Korea.

That one system of governance favours one does not necessarily mean it will favour another. Democracy favours the West and they are ok with it, meanwhile China adopted communism and it is working well for them, So I do not see the reason for the West trying to act as if they know it all.
