tempusfugit:Sir you are guessing It is clear you have no practical experience of what you are talking about It is better to keep quiet and stop talking nonsense based on HALF KNOWLEDGE because those with half knowledge are more dangerous than those who know nothing National Insurance number is not used for Passport applications that is nonsense. Before you interject yourself into a discussion try and understand what is being discussed National Insurance numbers are issued by HMRC which is the Revenue/tax agency It is unique to individual and does help with identifying people but not everyone has one. It is not mandatory It is illegal to work without one but NOT EVERYBODY WORKS It is used for employment /taxation and National insurance contributions so if you are a native born citizen and have never worked for one reason or another you might not have one. Yes immigrants are more likely to have one In summary it does not serve the purpose that is being claimed |
