I really don't get it. It doesn't matter which country you reside in the way the Air Force is treated is so different than they do other arms. Joining the Air Force is like joining a prestigious club but joining the Army is like being initiated into an area boys club.

Navy is even the best, year in year out you'll hardly read or hear about death of their personnel.

Yes with a starting salary of 180k in Army and 220k in other armed forces. I think they're doing very well.

I could have joined but I don't have a national identity card, I'm not physically fit and I wrote wassce 5 times before I made it.

I used Voters card when I applied for Navy and I was shortlisted,
Army doesn't care how many times you wrote waec, just have a minimum of 4 passes.
Only physical test might be your undoing.

Lol, I remember as far back as 2014 or so, application form to join the army was #2500. I am sure even for free now, most people won't apply.

I bought with 1000 with Abeg last year, tho I later cancelled my plans and requested for refund because the portal wasn't working at all.

Reduce your age to the range of 23-26, then this recruitment is not for you.
DSSC/SSC recruitment is the one you should apply for and it's coming out later in the year.
