Today is the one anniversary of the burial of His Royal Majesty, Eze Israel Okwu Kanu, and his Wife, Lolo Ugoeze Sally Kanu. They are the parents of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu. On the 14th of September 2017, the Nigerian Army illegally invaded their home with the intention of killing their son. Complications arising from that illegal invasion ultimately led to their deaths. They were burried valentines day, 2020.

However, the Royal couple were staunch supporters of their son, and the Biafran cause. In 2016 when Nnamdi Kanu was still in detention in Kuje Prisons, his parents travelled to Germany to address Biafrans. Below are videos and pictures from that visit

This two died suddenly because of the actions of the Nigerian government! Their demise will haunt this country for a long time and showcases in startling terms, the alarming levels of mediocrity that pervades officialdom in this country. This is the kind of things that stiffens resolve and hardens positions! Buhari shouldn't have sent soldiers to desecrate this late traditional rulers palace! He did so and some hailed him.., but to what purpose? Where are the gains of that action?¿ Since then, the movement Kanu leads have been radicalised.., they now are trying to go militant.. Number of radicals within the group calling for stronger actions have increased.., Kanu has become even more elusive.., Nigerias image has been battered as a draconian state that doesn't tolorate opposing views and kanus messages and beliefs have even drawn sympathetic ears from far and near... So you ask yourself again; where are the political gains of Buhari and Burutais brutal assault on the igwes palace? No gains really... Just two inebriated northerners with some bruised egos laying time bombs that will explode when they're here no more...

I warned about that military invasion in 2017. Some Nigerians were saying that the military attack was justified because Nnamdi Kanu was agitating for the break up of Nigeria. I warned them that this was democracy and the military has no business going to anyones house to open fire. I warned them that if they did not all rise up and condemn extra-judicial killing by the military, this would become the norm rather than the exception

Today, it no longer matters whether you are protesting for Biafra or Nigeria, you will be killed. Lekki toll gate protests learnt the hardway. The injustice that people condoned out of being biased rather than being fare, has turned Nigeria into a militarised state where government no longer tolerates any form of protest, and trying to protest will be crushed with military force

Serves Nigerians right, they thought that injustice is only for Biafran agitators.
