Excess profit on top our heads with cement selling at 5k a bag and Buhari with Fashola talking of housing for all.. Fulani monopolies want us to embibe the spirit of cave existence...

just imagine what dangote will use our eye to see when he finally complete his refinery.
except is that oil well close to the Lagos island he will manage because by the time Niger delta militants increase their demand and FG no comply on time, his losses will tell on him.
Nigerians are very docile same with Congolese people, Ghana and some well to do African countries will make sure such things will not materialize in their countries.

Why wouldn't they?
I repeat why wouldn't they?

Nigercem Nkalagu is dead
Ibeto Cement has been suffocated.

If it is not Dangote, it is Bua....a sad monopoly of a specific line of business.
Sadly, over 68% of patronage is by Southerners.
From Chiedu Okoh to Lafenax...I doubt both companies have any bigger dealers.

Cement that should sell for 800naira a bag now sells for 3,300 a bag and you are surprised at a 95.4billion Naira profit?

Why won't they declare profit when an average man can not afford a bag of cement even just to patch varader for business? Seems we will just leave this country for you and Dangote.

I didn't support those crimes you mentioned, but these people too were criminals in collabo with government. Imaging, total revenue was 209 billions and profits was 95billions .
That is 45.5% profit.

They collaborated with useless govt to exploit the poor.

In life, it is what you focus on that expands. If all you see around you are opportunities , you are more likely to create value from the opportunities and if you see lack and poverty, it limits your horizon sir.

As far as I know, BUA does not like the current restrictions that make cement that expensive.

They want to liberalize production in Nigeria.

Other cement producers (not sure about BUA) want to liberalize production and importation of cement.

Wow!

The Profit Before Tax is almost 50% of revenue. The profit margins are too damned.

That's what you get when you ban imports. Consumers are paying through the nose for cement
Re: BUA Cement Declares Profit Of ₦95 Billion For Full Year, 2020 by doncum(m): 8:35am On Feb 15, 2021
I hope you realise that cement is selling at 2700 direct from the factories. It's retailers that are making the huge margins on the price due to scarcity because one of Lafarge's plant has broken down and Dangote had some issues too which they have now fixed. That's why the BUA man was saying more players are needed to boost capacity but who wants to drop $300miliion to build a new plant? Who?

Southern businessmem especially need to reevaluate what kind of wealth they want to create. Let them put their money where their mouth is
