#movies: Namaste Wahala, Adu; Top 5 Netflix Movies To Relax With This Weekend by Nigeria2day(m): 2:34pm On Feb 19, 2021 |
The week has ended. Hopefully, it was not that stressful. However, if it was, you probably have plans to relax and get the well-deserved rest this weekend. If the plans include catching up on some really nice Netflix movies, we have picked for you the top 5 movies trending in Nigeria on Netflix. Check them out below: 1. ADU: Adu is named after the central character, a Cameroonian boy escaping the wrath of elephant poachers in his village. He must undertake the horrendous journey to Spain to find his father. Adu is a migration-themed movie that will get you thinking about the fate of desperate illegal migrants in search of a better life in Europe. It is set in several parts of Africa including, Cameroon, Senegal and Morocco. The movie is an overall well-told story, suspenseful, with the right cinematographic appeal. 2. BLACK BEACH: This is a tragic story about a mediation gone wrong. It was meant to be a simple negotiation to resolve an evolving conflict in an oil-rich nation somewhere in Africa. However, it turned deadly, leading to massive bloodshed and needless loss of lives. It is a story with a sad ending, but it is enjoyable. The most remarkable part is the degree of action that the director was able to achieve despite the African setting. 3. NAMASTE WAHALA: Love meets culture in this Nollywood drama when an Indian expatriate living in Nigeria falls in love with a Nigerian woman. This movie, released on Valentine’s Day, was a product of a collaboration between Nollywood and Bollywood. It is a good movie, with a storyline and the right amount of humour.
