A forum of former student union leaders under the aegis of Anambra State Comrades Association (ASCA), Friday, honoured the state coordinator of National Youth Social Corps (NYSC), Mr Kehinde Aremu, as mayor and patron of the body.

ASCA team led by its President, Comrade Collins Okelue, while conferring the awards on Aremu at the state NYSC orientation camp at Umuawulu/Mbaukwu in Awka South LGA, said it was aimed at honouring Aremu due to his selfless services to the people.

According to Okelue, the association as an apolitical body and a pressure group with the major objective of promoting good governance, would always appreciate persons who have distinguished themselves through selfless services in any capacity.

Responding, the awardee, Mr Kehinde Aremu, said he would never relent in uplifting the masses because his constituents were youth, who represent a very unique demography that needs to be understood in terms of their peculiarities and how to motivate them to take up leadership roles.

He pledged support to the association's missions and vision statement, urging them to sustain the tempo as economy, peace and progress of the country remain under their care.
