The truth is, during the selection process three were selected , but one of the man that was highly voted for,wwas tipped to succeed and all the people want him. But among the three,there the governor want to choose one unpopular guy.(a muslim)

It was purely a matter of succession of a late traditional ruler who happened to be a Christian that would normally not have anything to do with Religion. But the Government decided to drag religion into it by pre-emptiong the outcome of the new ruler to be announced by the governor, who some people believed that the governor is planning to announce a Muslim.

A Christian Majority Tangale, will have a Muslim king.

Where in the North will a Muslim majority city or Town have a Christian King.

However, Tangale has never produced a Muslim king. If the Governor appoints this one as he's planning, this will be the first Muslim king in Tangale Kingdom.

Am from Tangale-Waja so Lemme educate you a little so that you can understand what is really happening. The 14th Mai Tangle was a Muslim and he was Succeeded by HRM Buba Maisheru 3 whom was a Christian before joining his ancestors. The problem of succession arose when the top contender(Christian) with 5 votes out of 9 is being marginalised in favour of a Muslim with just 2 votes. This made people to act base on their emotions and start to attack Muslim settlement, place of worship and businesses. The Governor has the habit of favouring a Muslim over a Christian in any contest or attaining a position by seniority. This played out in Balanga LG where a Christian emerged as the winner of APC primary for Chairmanship but he was denied and the sit went to the 3rd contender who was a Muslim then the case of Justice Beatrice was by seniority is supposed to be the Chief Justice of the state but she jumped and her 3rd junior is made an Acting CJ which the National Judicial Council have refused to confirm him. There are lot of bias treatment the governor has meted on the Christian community that is why the people took laws into their hand. The marginalisation is too much.
