|3 Ways To Manage Your Time Better For Peak Performance In 2021 by AbasiofofonUdoh(m): 12:18pm On Feb 23|
Activity does not equal productivity
Because you are super active does not mean you are super productive
You can be very active doing nothing.
You can be very active wasting your life
One proven way to waste your life is to waste your time
It is called LIFETIME because time is life and life is time.
Key things you must know about time...
Time pauses for no one
Time keeps running...it cannot be stopped
Time cannot be delayed..
Time lost cannot be redeemed
making the most of every opportunity because the days are evil - Eph.5:16(NIV)
Even doctors that advice you to sleep 8 hours don't sleep that long
You can ask any medical student
If they sleep 8 hours daily they will just fail in flying colors.
If you sleep 8 hours daily let's do the maths
365 days = 1 year
8 x 365 = 2920 hours
2920 hours ÷ 24 hours = 121 days
You've successfully slept away 121 days out of 365 days in a year
If you consider the time people spend watching movies, chatting aimlessly, and working for their bosses, you will realise that a lot of people are not productive for themselves throughout a whole year.
This is why only few people in the world are truly successful.
Consider spending only 3 hours working on yourself daily
You would have spent 46 FULL days in personal development in the year.
That's over 1 month out of 12. Impressive!
So how do you become more productive in 2021 as the year is still very morning
1. Plan tomorrow tonight
This key works over and over again. I use it daily
And I will continue to use it.
A lot of people step into a new day without any plan.
It has been said time and again, "when you fail to plan you plan to fail"
No wonder a lot of people are daily failures
And don't plan the day in the morning
Plan your day a night before so that once you're awake you head straight to your first task.
What you do first sets the pace for the rest
Be clear on what you want to do the next day.
Clarity gives you direction
And direction births progress.
Take 20 to 30 minutes the night before and plan.
Plan through tomorrow tonight
2. Create more time for the vital things in your life
Not everything you do is important
20% of everything you do accounts for 80% of your results.
I call this 20% 'your unique 20%'
A lot of people are super busy yet they produce no results.
Because you are busy does not mean you are productivity
You can be busy doing nothing.
Your unique 20% accounts for 80% of your results
This principle helped me make first class in university.
5 things form my unique 20% for personal development, and I focus on these daily
I call it my list of 5. This is my list of 5;
I have to
1. Read books
2. Watch videos on YouTube
3. Attend online trainings
Form your list of 5 today and spend more time on them.
3. Reduce your time on social media
Most people are not productive generally because of social media
Too many aimless chats
Too many avoidable messages to reply
Too many repeated conversations
If it's not business or very important messages, let it wait
Nobody will die
Everyone must not like you
Someone sends a message at 7:00 must you reply at 7:01 or even 7:05
Are you a replier?
Don't be in a haste to reply every message
John Paul DeJoria, the founder of Tequila Maker Patron Spirits Co., acquired billionaire status without social media. He made billions with zero social media
And you're there wasting your life on it
Social media is not bad but it is dangerous when you burn you time there
Turn off your cellular data, freeze your social media apps and focus on your list of 5. Your unique 20%
2021 is still young. Start today. Manage your time better for peak performance.
