PROCEEDINGS OF THE 7TH ABAK LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 23, 2021.

FORMAL ENTRY OF THE LEADER

The Leader of Council Hon. (Queen) Sandra Bassey, led the Principal Officers into the Chambers, took the official prayers and began the day’s proceedings at 10:58am.

VOTES AND PROCEEDINGS

The House Leader, Hon. Itoro Ezekiel Udotim moved for the adoption of Votes and Proceedings for Tuesday, 23rd February, 2021.
The motion was seconded by Hon. Uforo Xavier Akpan, councillor representing midim ward 1.

ANNOUNCEMENT

The Clerk, Catechist Oscar Ekanem rose to announce the funeral of late Chief (Caped Elder) Michael Benson Ukpong, Father of the Head of the Local Government Service, Abak, Elder (Mrs.) Rita Akpan Essien.

ORDER OF THE DAY

(1) Committee report on Education and Jamb Preparatory/Tutorial enlightenment classes for students of Abak, by the Chairman House Committee on Education, Women Affairs and Students Matters, Hon. (Deaconess) Angela Ekong.

(2) A Bill for a Bye-law on Waste Management and Revenue Generation in Abak Local Government Area. Sponsored by Hon. Ekerette Johnson Bassey, councillor representing Abak Urban ward 4.

(3) A Bill for an act for the Wearing of Reflective Revenue Coats during work hours by Revenue Officers of Abak Local Government Council, and for Identification and other Matters Connected Therein. Sponsored by Hon. Itoro Ezekiel Udotim,
Councillor Representing Afaha-Obong ward 1.

The Leader of council, Hon. (Queen) Sandra Bassey commended the chairman House Committee on Education, Hon. Angela Ekong for a detailed report presented by the education committee and thereafter referred it back to the committee for further legislative engagements.

ADJOURNMENT

House Leader, Hon. Itoro Ezekiel Udotim moved that, plenary be adjourned to another legislative day. Hon. Ekerette Johnson Bassey seconded.

Plenary is adjourned to Friday, 26th February, 2021.
