Some shops and houses has been burnt down by a mysterious fire in McDermott road, Warri, Delta State, HGS Media Plus reports.

The fire started last night, February 23 at around 8:30pm.

According to report gathered by HGS Media Plus, the fire started from a man's, (name withheld) apartment in the area.

HGS Media Plus learnt that the children of the man forgot to turn off a candle light which they used that evening before going to bed.

Apparently, the candle got burn to ground level and as a result the fire was ignited. All properties from various shops and houses nearby were not spared as it was all destroyed in the inferno.

However, no casualties were recorded as at the time of filling this report.
