That rail project and badagry expressway has been under construction since 2009, it's still not completed 12 years after. grin

If your state is governed better, why do you want to die in Lagos? Even your state governor comes to Lagos every weekend.

Before you talk rubbish on public forum get some education first.

The badagry expressway/rail is a federal government - world Bank project. The federal government under PDP frustrated the project (by refusing to release counter fund) because Lagos was in the opposition for good 16years.
Sorry that was wrong. The rail project as well as the Badagry highway are state projects under the supervision of LAMATA even though there is a point that the Apapa-Oshodi-Iyana Oworo-Ojota road project shared right of way but they are different projects.
What I see here is that unless the rail line is completely ready to use, the highway would not be tarred in order to avoid waste of resources which may result from reconstruction.
The rail itself was conceived by Fashola administration to move on diesel alone but it has since been improved to include facilities for electricity powered trains too after the old coach Fashola bought was scrapped and the old contract revisited which led to the CCECC company coming on board hence the obvious changes we see them make to the previous construction to suit the new locomotives they'd acquired from China.
Of course, fund availability was a factor thus Ambode ignored it entirely but Sanwo Olu has taken it up, approved the needed funds with consideration for the red line too which they hope to deliver by 2022. Note that this time, CCECC has been fully paid according to LAMATA and the LASG. So the onus rests on the construction company to deliver the project under the timeline.

You’re mostly correct.

However, the Badagry Expressway is a federal road that the Lagos State government, during the Fashola administration, got permission to rebuild and expand into a 10-land highway with light rail tracks (just like Ambode got federal government permission to rebuild the airport road, which is also a federal road), up to Okokomaiko, while the federal government would rebuild the remainder up to the Seme border.

Apart from financial (and any other) issues, a significant cause of delay was the almost 3 years it took the NNPC to excavate and relocate its pipelines on the right of way, and the even longer period it took to negotiate and secure agreement with the military to demolish parts of the Ojo Cantonment wall (and/or any other building therein) that encroaches on the light rail’ s right-of-way.

In fact, it wasn’t until the Buhari administration came to office that the Lagos government was finally able to secure agreement to use the Nigeria Railway Corporation’s right-of-way for the Red Line. Meanwhile, while the aforementioned delays were taking it place, the value of the Naira plummeted over 100% against the US dollar. Hopefully, it will smooth sailing from here on out. Eko oni baje!

So what if it was named by Portuguese?

Who named Delta?
Who named Nigeria? It is also a no man's land since it was the BRITISH that gave us the name.
What about port Harcourt? Is it a no man's land?

I have said it that the likes of you are just stubbornly ignorant. It is like since you can't claim Lagos, you decide to tell yourself it is a no man's land. It is hard to belive that some people's "village" is in lagos right?

Of course, the Lagos-Badagry highway is a federal road but the project in question is a state project. And you're right about all the delays too. Let's just hope the projects come alive at the new deadline.
Lagos needs underground rail network too for smooth transit but I doubt the possibility now with such congested landmass and her financial condition considering her numerous endeavors. Unless a huge partnership comes from somewhere, we should rather be contented with the lines earmarked in the blueprint.

For your mind you sit down type long meaningless rubbish.

That road you see is even more than a federal road.

It is an international road...which is expected to connect to Benin Rep -Ghana-Togo - Senegal.

No be only LAMATA na LABATA

Yes, there's a section of the road for the state government...okokomaiko

The rest are Federal government-worldbank project

How d'you escaped through the Uni with this comprehension issue of yours? How does 'The rail project as well as the Badagry highway are state projects under the supervision of LAMATA even though there is a point that the Apapa-Oshodi-Iyana Oworo-Ojota road project shared right of way but they are different projects.' suddenly meant that Badagry highway is a state road? Even my following post was quite explicit that I understand the road belongs to the FG but that doesn't change the fact that the project is a state project; or how best must I explained that?
The discussion was on the project not the road and before you jumped into any discussion next time, try understand the point of argument before barking out your fury like a dog.
