In the middle of all the self-congratulations, especially from Prof. Jega, we are yet to get a consistent set of results from INEC. For sure, INEC promised to deliver results within 48hrs - but that means that the election is not over, voting was over, but not the election - so self-congratulations are premature. At the time, 48hrs seemed reasonable, but events over the last few hours has demonstrated that the entire process can be easily rubbished by a large gap between voting closure and declaration of results. If this turned out to be so then our efforts would have been for nought. There is no doubt that some shady happenings took place between last night and this morning. Given the higher stakes in the remaining two elections things can really go awry with this kind of gap between the polling booth and the results. I would like to urge INEC to make two crucial adjustments for next week and the following one: 1. Make results available a maximum of 12 hrs after polls close in each location. Given that votes are counted and recorded at the polling stations there is no reason why they cannot be collated within 12hrs. 2. INEC needs to create a single web page on their site for the remaining elections to be updated regularly as each position is determined. |

@OP: Well said. No more of this middle of the night stuff. Every ward should be reported individually in one central place online so we can see what is going on. |

This is why I have always refered to CPC as "phanton CPC". Buhari's two month to election strategy will never work. PDP has to be watched hand and foot to not use rough tactics b/4, during and after the elections. Still, popular disatisfaction may give BB a chance at the presidency (very doubtful) - but without a significant party base in the national assembly we are in for another 4 year of useless back and forth. Has INEC attended to this "little" matter of getting the results to us as they were recorded at the polling booths, and in time? Oh yeah, did I tell you to guide your votes closely on Saturday - against the PDP rigging machinery? |

Nothing has really changed Free and fair elections in the SW (I guess where most of the cameras and international media is), wuruwuru elsewhere. Still no election results broken down by ward. Elections in this country are a bit of a joke. . . |
