But I strongly believe that if Nigeria and it's leaders did anything to contribute to our economic development, there would be a very minuscule number of our youth getting involved in such criminality. Poverty is not a joke, if you've never been hungry, you wouldn't understand the extent one can go to have a meal. Survival, in this country can drive you to anything, especially when you witness the level of corruption and incompetence displayed by our "leaders".

Speaking in Yoruba, the suspect while being interrogated, said he uses the bank codes on any sim card that receives bank alerts to transfer money to another account which he has access to. He also mentioned that he takes loans from the banks of any sim card he lays his hands on

OP for your information the guy is not a yahoo boy but a local hacker and also he never used any SIM to apply for loan, he clearly stated that he uses only salary account to apply for loan. I listened to the video so stop misleading people always report the news the way it is.

Once it becomes a viable means of survival, it turns to a job. Why do you think Evans collects millions from abduction ransoms, and still wouldn't call it quits? Or use that money to make tangible investments. Why do you think Yahoo boys make a lot of money but still fail to invest or give up their fraudulent ways? Why do you think people dress up and go to bet shops and stay there all day? It graduates from means of survival to jobs.

There is no way on earth any individual can use just one's BVN to collect money from one's account online without a pin.
Physically it is also impossible unless the owner of the account under duress withdraws it himself.
If it was that easy,by now the id iot would be a billionaire.
Useless thug forming smart bank fraudster,useless police believing him.
He even told them he could show them an example and they were all quaving in their pants instead of giving him an account for him to do it;afterall they already know d account he claims he can transfer the funds to if his fake stunt works.

everyone should have a pin lock on their bank SIM cards. it's just extra precaution.

I don't believe that can work on all banks. Maybe selected though. Also, probably for those *self opening account*
I haven't tried them out but I guess they can exploit the loopholes.

If the dude get hold of your sim/phone which is connected to an Access Bank,. He will try changing your pin, then can transfer your money. Why? Cos all he needs are on the phone and sim

This is for you all who drop your BVN on the internet, or give it out to strangers etc. Anyone can use your BVN to open a virtual account with banks like Kuda. No, they won't steal your money but use the virtual account (with your BVN) to store their loot. Scammers don't transfer stolen funds directly to their account.
