Volunteers Needed To Salvage Nigeria Image by Nobody: 2:04pm On Apr 11, 2011
I was totally disappointed by the manner a Sudanese National Mustafa Omer is rubbishing the image of Our beloved country in the front page of Alibaba.com. Granted there are fraudsters in Nigeria, but is the threat from Nigeria more serious than threat from so many chinese fraudsters in Alibaba.com? Google Alibaba.com, you will be amazed by the countless cases of Nationals from different countries giving vivid description of wholesale fraud perpetrated by the so called Gold-registered members of Alibaba.com. These fraudulent cases are not limited to Alibaba.com, but other B2B websites in china. People from all over the world have lost substantial amount of Money to these Chinese fruadsters. Their method of operation is that they pose as company representatives only to disappear after receiving your money. Sometimes they send fake or different low quality products other than the one you asked for.

Now the Chinese are not getting the world condemnation like Nigeria, even some companies that blacklisted Nigeria like paypal is doing business in China. You cannot believe that the trend now is to blame Nigeria for any fraud commited in any country including, that means citizens of other nations are saints. The case of a chinese trader that defrauded someone from another country is now being blamed on Nigerian. But these allegation was latter found to be false, thanks to webcam. The screenshots showed a chinese not a Nigeria as they claimed. Anywhere fraud is committed they blame it on Nigerians. DO WE NEED TO FOLD OUR HANDS AND WATCH THESE DESTRUCTION TO CONTINUE? Definitely NO.

What do we need to do?

Let us volunteer.

Lets clean our house first, see it as a duty to change any yahoo yahoo person around you. When people perception about Nigeria positively changes, local and international opportunities will be open to Nigerians.

Lets use every medium to educate people that every Nigerian is not a fraudster. Fraudsters are in every country.

Lets go to any internet forum where Nigeria is discussed give positive comments about Nigeria.

Lets use the links below to counter any comment made by the Sudanese Mustafa Omer and his cohorts who are determined to send Nigeria to early grave. Remember our future lies in our hand.

Lets use our numeric strength to our own advantage. Visit alibaba.com and correct the world impression that every Nigerian is a fraudster.

I must commend some Nigerians who have already given positive comments on this particular issue on Alibaba.com.

Remember we do not control media like CNN, BBC and others

Let use internet to counter cheap blackmail.

God Bless you all
