I have become suddenly interested in owning some of those tall local hausa dogs. I need like four to groom into security dogs. How much can I get them and who knows if those hausa guys are willing to sell. I hear dogs are haram to them or something.

They're local dogs known as Basenji with tall legs. They might have been mixed with another African local dog breed to create the tall legs.
Hausa dogs with short legs are many too.

You haven't heard of German shepherd, Belgian Malinois, Italian mastiff etc. Even Rottweiler is a place. Ethnic groups, tribes, and places have been used to describe dog breeds. Hausa dog isvthey best description I can give for now.

Hausa dogs with short legs are many too.

Basenji is a dog breed of its own, also known as the African barkless dogs. Our local mongrels are not basenjis, please. They are just mongrels or mutts.

The attached picture is how a Basenji looks like. Google is your friend.
