The sin that hurts the most is Bitterness This is the number one problem with couples and in families.

Text: (Eph 4:30-32 kjv) “And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you."

The 3 causes of bitterness

1. Critical or judgemental thinking. It usually start with a question mark which is satanic. Remember what happened back in the garden (Gen 3:1 kjv) “Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?” That is the devil questioning the word of God just like people are busy doing today. It makes you feel you are right, and God or the other person is wrong. It makes you lose peace. It makes you worry about the person you judge and yourself because you are afraid of what other people will think of you.

2. Bitterness develops because of someone who does you wrong (unforgiving spirit). People feel bitter because they feel they have the right to be bitter against who hurt them. They want to look good and want the other person to get the justice or evil. Why not empty everything to the Lord and understand that you also don’t deserve Heaven because we all deserve Hell? What if you were born into that person’s background that you are bitter towards? You have no idea what that person have been through. You might probably be worse than the person you are bitter towards if you were born into his or her background. Just simply say to the Lord to forgive them for they don’t know what they are doing. Bitterness runs on emotions. Bitterness runs on emotions, and it makes you feel right and want revenge. The only thing that can free you from bitterness is to think “What of if Jesus Christ was this bitter towards you?”

3. Bitterness develops because of GOSSIP. It usually starts by “don’t tell anybody.” Bitterness is a wicked sin from Hell and it makes people so sensitive that they will not obey the word of God but rather do things their own way. The sin of bitterness is so evil and hurtful that it hurts the person and the people around that person. Bitterness has to do with the flesh, and the truth is that flesh and Spirit will never reconcile (Gal 5:16-17 kjv). Love is to totally think of the other person. Reconciliation and forgiveness is the most powerful and strongest love you will ever see. This doesn’t often happen because people have so much pride; because all we think about is how we feel and we want the other person to think about what we are thinking and feeling. That’s selfishness, and that’s why people are bitter.

Bitterness erases the love of Jesus Christ from us.
