Dapo abiodun is an ingrate, Benin republic that provided an IDP camp for your people, you want to turn ur back against then, give them the island naau as a token of appreciation,if your people had nowhere to run to, fulanis herdmen would have slaughtered them like ileya ram

Ogbeni dapo, never bite the finger that feed/fed you, comot eye for the island for Benin republic

Abi the lifeless ugu leave in aso rock you are calling for help, is it not his brethren that displaced your people grin

Infact the oil in tongeji Island is very vast and deep. That's why I laugh those ignorants saying southwest doesn't have oil. We also have bitumen in large deposits at odeda in ogun state. The bottom line is to exhaust Niger delta oil then breakaway from Nigeria to enjoy our oil in peace grin
though I heard the rumor before but now that it's confirmed,if Nigeria break today, only the notherners will feel the heat and might not be able to cope

Obasanjo consciously handed over Bakassi peninsula to the Cameroonian government! He even organized a military ceremony to that effect! Nobody from other parts of the country rose against this! This was an ijiot that swore by the constitution to protect the country and her boundaries! Today Bakassi indigenes are all scattered across different refugee camps in Cross Rivers State while Obasanjo is quietly enjoying his share of the national loot in Ogun State! That island should be yanked off and dashed to Lesotho! Since some of you only start reasoning once you start feeling the heat..

A 2019 investigation by sunnewspaper showed the state failed woefully. If the islanders were smart they'd vote to become their own local government. The state and local government they're apart of dont care about them so they should get wise. The allocation the island gets could provide basic infrastructure and make them more politically relevant.

Facts about the island:
Only 1 dilapidated school that serves primary 1-6.
Expecting mothers deliver babies in Benin Republic.
No acess roads
No electricity
No market

The people of the Island should declare themselves independent of both Nigeria and Benin Republic, then see the speed at which Nigeria will claim them and start doing some constructions to show that Nigerian Government has presence on the Island.

1) In 1995, Cameroon took Nigeria to the International Court of Justice over Bakassi.
2) The ICJ ruled that based on the 1913 Anglo-German aggrements that defined Nigeria-Cameroon borders, Bakassi fall into Cameroon.

3) Before the ICJ Judgement, the US and France had mediated in the matter and invited both Nigeria and Cameroon to The Green Tree, New-York to sign an agreement that both countries will respect the Judgement irrespective of who is favoured

4) Obasanjo, being an experienced politician and soldier sought advice and was counselled to abide by the GreeTree Aggrement because failures to do so will lead to Nigeria-Cameroon War and Nigeria will be going to war against France (disguising as Cameroon).

Good analysis!
That's why I said that since the island in question here is a place shared by Benin and Nigeria, with France still teleguiding the Beniniose as was/is the case with Cameroon, Nigeria should not hesitate to join another green, red or Orange tree agreements to hand over this island to the republic of Benin! Right?

Unless the government of benin republic is not interested, otherwise the island is there for their taking! And I can assure you, they will have the support of "Nigerians" like me!
You guys are unbelievable! The Bakassi ruling was riddled with so many loopholes which Nigeria could have manipulated to get back the island! It was nothing but a failure of leadership!

To start with, it was stated clearly that the indigenous inhabitants of that island were/are Nigerians! Plebiscite!? Referendum!? No! Obasanjo rushed to slice off that part of the former eastern Nigeria and handed it over to Cameroon! Obviously to keep to dubious war time agreements between federal Nigeria and most of these francophone states,... Agreements that have destroyed Nigeria beyond repair today!

Let me ask you; Do you know that up till this day, Thee United States that is forcing Nigeria to obey the world Court ruling does not recognize the authorities of the international court over her affairs or sovereignty? So how come that we had in this dubious country, a regime so desperate to kowtow to the demands of those who will NEVER under any circumstances, obey the dictates of the same court?

I will like to see your face as you explain that..
Fake nationalists and worn out 'patriots' everywhere..
