After losing to Chelsea during the week, Jurgen Klopp made 7 changes to the team that will face Fulham FC at Anfield by retaining only Robertson, Wijnaldum, Alison, and Salah. Thiago, Jones, Alexander Arnold, Fabinho, and Mane were on the bench.

Fulham coach, Scott Parker only made 2 changes to the team that lost to Tottenham Hotspur in their last match with the hope to become the first London club to win away at both Everton and Liverpool in the same Premier League season since west Ham United FC did same in 2015-16 season.

Before today's match, Liverpool has kept a clean sheet in 11 of their last 14 English Premier League home games against Fulham FC. Fulham has won just 2 out of their last 26 away Premier League games against the reigning top-flight champion, drawing 3 and losing 21 matches.

The only goal of the encounter between Liverpool FC and Fulham FC at Anfield was scored by Mario Lemina in the 45th minutes. Cavalero's free-kick was headed away by Robinson, but Mohamed Salah does not clear the ball when it drops to him on the edge of the box.

Lemina outmuscles Mohamed Salah to nick the ball off him before drilling his shot across goal and into the far bottom corner to give Fulham FC the only goal and a deserving win.

Goalkeeper & Defenders

Alisson (GK) - 6/10 - Had a few squeaky bum moments early on but nothing particularly disastrous.

Neco Williams (RB) - 5/10 - Big learning curve for the youngster who looked fragile and tentative in everything he did.

Nat Phillips (CB) - 5/10 - Doesn't have the pace to be the defender he tries to be sometimes. Dominant in the air but way too erratic with his positioning for comfort.

Rhys Williams (CB) - 6/10 - Kept things simple. Looked pretty green but can't really be criticized.

Andy Robertson (LB) - 6/10 - The player tried, we'll say that. Nowhere near his explosive best but did keep his side of the pitch sewn up.

Midfielders

James Milner (CM) - 6/10 - Marshalled the midfield and seemed keen to get forward and help out the forwards, which was strange to see.

Georginio Wijnaldum (CM) - 5/10 - Didn't do too much wrong but struggled to control the game as he can. Sacrificed for Mane on the hour.

Naby Keita (CM) - 5/10 - A few nice touches and one-twos but nowhere near proactive enough in possession.

Forwards

Xherdan Shaqiri (RW) - 5/10 - Gave Liverpool something different. Was it actually any use though? Not really.

Mohamed Salah (CF) - 4/10 - Deployed in a central position to start with and didn't look remotely comfortable. Robbed for the opener and generally ineffective throughout.

Diogo Jota (LW) - 6/10 - Faded in and out of the game but occasionally looked sharp and direct.

Though, Liverpool FC dominated the 2nd half of the match with Jota forcing a great save out of Areola before Sadio Mane hit the crossbar and Neco Williams fired over the bar, with all these efforts, Liverpool FC could not find the deserving equalizer.
