There are several jobsite technologies that are revolutionizing the construction industry and this article will discuss six of them. These technologies improve communication on the job site and help workers to be safer than ever even in a noisy environment.

This improves productivity and results for all stakeholders. Now, lets take a look at how technologies revolutionize the construction industry today and for years to come!

1. Tool and Equipment Trackers
Tool and equipment trackers allow workers to know where their tools are at all times. This helps to prevent accidents that are caused by tools falling or otherwise causing injuries by being in unexpected places.

These tools and equipment rely on the Internet of Things, Bluetooth and WIFI to supply all workers at a job site with the information that they need to keep themselves and others safe.

Bluetooth technology is built directly into the construction tools offered by some companies, such as those which are available through the Milwaukee Tool company.

This can be used along with their cloud-based inventory management system, which involves tool control and tool monitoring on every job site. You'll always know where your tools are and can even track brooms in this way.

2. Smart Safety Shoes
Smart safety shoes help workers to stay connected and save lives. These sometimes utilize safety pods that can be attached to any shoes or boots that a worker is wearing.

These shoes can detect that a worker has fallen or has been still for too long. If the person wearing the shoes does not respond to an alert, a signal is sent out to notify others.

Some shoes come with a smart panic button. A worker can press this to get help if they need it. Some shoes also enable two-way communication, allowing workers to send and receive messages that alert the workers in a particular area to danger.

2. Smart Road Cones
Smart orange cones protect workers against road accidents. Intellinium and other developers have made smart orange cones available, which drastically improve safety in busy areas.

Bluetooth low energy is used to connect the workers to the vehicles in their area. As soon as a vehicle moves, workers are notified.

Several wireless protocols may be used in these smart orange cones, in order to reduce the response time and notify workers who are thousands of meters away.

4. Lighted Orange Cones
Lighted orange cones are used in safe work zones and flash in a sequence. They don't just blink together. They flash in sequence from the first to the last, allowing drivers of heavy construction vehicles to see that their roadway is tapering to a closure If these cones are knocked over, they will automatically resynch via Bluetooth, so they still keep on blinking in the correct order. This helps drivers of heavy trucks to avoid accidents on a job site.

5. Smart Rail
Smart rail systems are designed to protect workers who are on sites where rail systems are used to transport materials. Each worker will be notified once they are in danger.

The risk of potential impact with a wagon is decreased significantly with these systems. Workers are notified immediately in the event of sudden moves or any unexpected changes.

6. Exoskeletons
Exoskeletons are being used to make construction work safer for all workers. Once found mostly in video game environments, this type of technology is now being used in a wide range of sectors where it can help to improve safety and performance.

The construction industry is no different, as exoskeletons can be comfortably worn outside other protective clothing.

An exoskeleton can help a construction worker to comfortably lift heavy equipment or operate heavy machinery. These help workers who are performing mundane, repetitive tasks that could lead to a drop in concentration.

They support better physical health on the job site, preventing conditions that are caused by common construction tasks.

Conclusion
Construction has always been an industry that is fraught with danger but new technology is helping to alleviate some of that.
Several companies are working to improve the conditions that workers face each day, by providing them with innovations that reduce wear and tear on their bodies and improve access to real-time information in work zones.
