To observe real-time evolution happening, you have to study those organisms that have very short periods of generation, like in Viruses and bacteria. How many generations do you think a typical bacterium specie will have in one human generation? Do the maths; it takes about 20minutes for E.coli to divide into new daughter cells, you cannot observe real-time evolution in an E.coli in just 20mins. Now divide 6months by 20mins, how many generations has passed? Approximately 13,000 E. coli generations will pass in 6months, this is enough time to observe evolution in bacteria. It will take about 390,000years to be able to observe that same degree of evolution in humans assuming that one generation is 30years. No human can live that long to physically observe substantial changes in humans. The oldest Homo sapien fossil found in Morocco is just about 300,000years through radiometric dating.

The wisest thing to do is to go back in time into past generations, the details are already embedded in fossils, our DNA and geological history of the earth. We have done this and the evidence points to the fact that we evolved mostly by natural selection.
