Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari, says Nigerians should rise against the challenges of insecurity in the northern part of the country.

Buhari, who made the statement through Garba Shehu, his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, noted that the efficiency of the Nigerian military might not be enough in handling security challenges without the hands of citizens.

”A country which has an efficient local intelligence network is a safer country,” the President said.

“Our military may be efficient and well-armed but it needs good efforts for the nation’s defense and the local population must rise to this challenge of the moment.”

The president’s call follows increasing attacks by terrorists against civilians and more recently against educational institutions.

A group of armed terrorists around midnight, between Thursday and Friday, raided the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation, Afaka, Kaduna State, Northwest Nigeria and abducted 39 students.

The terrorists later released a video showing the traumatised hostages with a number of their abductors moving around with assault rifles. The guards were also seen whipping some of the students.

The hostages called on the government to pay the abductors N500 million as a ransom. They said their lives were in danger.

Buhari, however, said the hostages should be freed and returned safely to their families, the News Agency of Nigeria reported.

He issued a stern warning to the terrorists targeting schools, saying the country will not allow the destruction of the school system

The first thing this man did when he came to power was to pass two executive orders which aided the planting of Banditry in the country.

Order 1: Executive order to stop NIGERIANS from owning any gun or firearm license and canceling all existing firearms license including those for sports and gaming ...This order left NIGERIANS at mercy of the bandits with no way to fight back .

Order 2: The executive order to dismantle all security check points on our highways , this order made it easy for the bandits to transport thier fighters and weapons across to all states in Nigeria..

Now that Nigeria has been well infiltrated by the bandit this man is now telling you to rise against insecurity with bare hands ..

NIGERIANS open your eyes ooo

Like seriously?
So you mean they should report to the same police that arrested the arresters of same terrorists? Or the military that followed them around to beat up those who wanted them out of their lands or those who disregarded the same intelligence given that choppers drops supplies to the same terrorists?

Nigeria finally a joke.

Useless man

Instead of this vegetable to confront insecurity head on, he is pushing the masses to go do his job. Idiot that will never take responsibility and act like a president for once.

This is your primary responsibility Mr.President.Live up to it.You can abdicate your work to the citizens because no everyone is constitutionally empowered to do it.

Lol...

PMB doesn't care. As long as he & his chosen few are safe, he believes whatever calamity befalls other citizens is the will of a supreme being...

Pmb only reacts or takes concrete action when his direct interests are threatened.

Nigerians should rise against the challenges of insecurity in the northern part of the country.

So what's the essence of having elected officials both at State and Federal levels when we still have to rise against the challenges of insecurity ?

Clueless buffoon
