Welcome. So, you're excited about blogging, but a little bit confused on the basics of SEO checklist to scale your blog/website.

Today, I will list a few and continue till we reach 7+ so you can optimise your site the way it should go.

#1. Change Permalink to "Post Name"

If you care about optimising your site for SEO such that your blog posts are easily understood by Google Serp crawlers, one thing you need to do is changing your Permalink to "Post Name"

Go to Settings > Reading > Permalinks.

#2. Add sitemap to Search Engines.

The next step of action is to add your sitemap to the two popular search engines which are Bing and Google.

With this action, your site will be indexed and subsequent updates will be crawled by the bots.

To do this easily, download "RankMath or Yoast" plugin and set it up.

3. Remove unnecessary pages from your indexing selection such as Tags, Author Profile.

And if you do not want some categories to be indexed, select no indexed on your SEO plugin.

Go to the category > RankMath or Yoast > click on "no index".

#4. Add logo to your site.

Branding your site is not rocket science and the good news is that it starts with a little thing like site logo.

And in case you want to use letters as a brand logo, then add a logo to your site menu - which shows when people open several pages.

To do this, go to *Appearance > Themes > Customise > site logo.*
