President Muhammadu Buhari and the outgoing Nigerien President met at the state house, Abuja on Tuesday in a bid to have some discussions. President Mahamadou Issoufou who is the outgoing president of Niger Republic had a very great relationship with Nigeria during his 2 tenure of 5 years each and thus he has to step down on the 7th of April for the president elect, Mohamed Bazoum will also be sworn in on that day.





Premium times online newspaper revealed that the two leaders had the meeting in order to address some sub-regional Challenges which the two west African countries are facing, particularly the Boko Haram insurgency and insecurity in general.

President Mahamadou Issoufou was also reported to have used the opportunity to thank Nigeria and president Muhammadu Buhari about the support and assistance which the giant of Africa rendered during his tenure as president of Niger Republic.





Recall that, Nigeria provided logistics and transportation Support during the last Niger Republic election which brought about the new president that will take over by April 7.



The visiting Nigerien leader in person of President Mahamadou Issoufou was honoured by naming the road behind SSS quarters at Asokoro after him and he was accompanied by about 6 northern governors ( Zamfara, Kebbi, Jigawa, Kano, Yobe and Sokoto State).
