This isn't new Na.
Asset declaration has always been since way-back 2016 or so...

Remember how I my salary account was placed on PND for not submitting the asset declaration form on time back then...

Nice move by the EFCC!

Dead on arrival..

Why are non public officer holders declaring their assets?

Even public officer holders who are Constitutionally required to declare their assets do not.

Let alone everyday people

Good move. You cannot begin to scratch the surface of financial crimes if the banking industry is not placed under a microscope. Until the banking profession becomes as dangerous as the security services and their liberty as precious as the health of doctors we cannot make progress.

What kind of intrusion is this ?

Very big intrusion. What are audits and other regulatory frameworks and policies for?? Bankers are smart if they want to steal and hide it they can do it conveniently sofar the system is venerable.

What he had just said in essence is that, if you are a banker and by June 1 you have not found a way to diffuse or enshroud in whatever way, all ill gotten wealth. Then, you have yourself to blame.

Announcing attacks!

Military does the same thing with book haram.

Governors are doing the same thing with bandits.

What a great development, I'm in full support of this. Because the corruption in Nigeria banking sector is terrible.
Re: EFCC To Demand Bankers’ Asset Declaration Forms June 1 by MrMcJay(m): 9:40pm On Mar 16, 2021
2 months is more than enough to hide proceeds of corruption and he should know this.

What most bankers will do is incorporate companies and transfer their assets to those companies. If they are buying a house, they will buy it in the name of the company.

When it is time to declare assets, they will say they have So and so shares in such companies not knowing that company is solely for holding hidden assets.

To prevent this, they should have done it the way CBN handled crypto, sudden and unexpectedly. But I guess he either wants attention, wants to give them heads up to hide their loots or he's too naive.
