Hosting and managing event can be a big hassle, even for the most experienced event managers. That's why I put together this checklist to help you navigate your next event, be it small or big, private or public, physical or virtual.

Concept stage
1. Decide to organise an event.
2. Create a brand identity and vision.
3. Determine the target audience for your event.
4. Set up a team to help you execute your event plans.

Budget stage

5. Decide on the size of your event.
6. Create a budget to fit.
7. Create a “pitch”, proposal or quotation for sponsors or the event owner.
8. Secure funding or sponsorships, depending on the event type.

Programming stage

10. Create a list of potential speakers/MC/artiste or entertainment.
11. Choose a date and venue.
12. Check out the venue to confirm that it suits your event.

14. Iron out details of their roles in your event.
15. Negotiate costs of the partnership.
16. Contact vendors.

Confirmation stage

Planning stage
