From an insider, I learnt that even if the entire budget of the nation is used to revamp PH refinery, nothing will still happen at the long run. That the management team of the refinery is corruption personified!
They award all contracts to themselves and NEVER execute them!
Imagine not paying attention to maintenance. How can the equipment give you the desired result?
The salaries they collect now even for doing nothing is simply WOW!!!

For a refinary that generates 2% of of the loan amount in 4 years.

It's actually wasteful. It's unfortunate though that it's the minister of Petroleum cum the President that gets to push and approve it.

So how will it ever be declined or countered?

...Unless you're tired of your work.

Why are Nigerians wicked to themselves? Please why? I need an answer. Can't that money be used to set up something to engage the youths in employable ventures? Why are blacks just wicked and greedy? It baffles me a lot. Yet senseless and sycophantic zom.bies won't see anything bad in federal government actions. We just waste money, while other oil producing nations and Asian countries have left us behind. It's a disgrace to Africa as a whole. The rubber stamp senate cannot see anything wrong in all these actions. We haven't survive the wastage of funds from security situation in the country which seems like it might linger on due to corruption and greed. I need supporters of this government to give me good reasons why government should waste scarce resources on these things? I am really pained that we are just wasting away opportunities to fully develop and leave stone age reasoning of bigotry, sycophancy, I don't care attitude and pepper eye politics behind. Very disgusting and a laughing stock to the international communities who might see us as people who lack the capacity to manage ourselves like civilized humans. Smh

So many fools masturbating over nonsense on this thread.

If the government now says let us build a new refinery, the same idiotic fools masturbating on this thread will come out and start questioning why the existing refineries are not repaired.

Let me ask you a question, is the government sincere in the rehabilitation drive or they are looking for an avenue to waste scarce resources? I doubt if you are from Niger Delta, if so you won't make this statement. Same thing with Ajokuta steel plant that has refused to work, yet government still spend money on it. The only solution to all these wastage is to let capable foreigners manage these project for a period of time before handling over to trained Nigerians who will already have been cleansed from corruptive motives and who patriotic to Nigeria state and not to any individual. It's only people who are benefiting from corruption that won't see anything bad in government actions. A national conference needs to held in this country where everyone needs to voice out their mind and provide sustainable solutions to all the problems we face as a nation. Unnecessary political moves won't save us.

Is this the first time billions of dollars have been allocated for TAM of these dead refineries.?

We all know how it ended?

These billions will definitely go the same way others went, into few pockets as usual.

You can't revive what is already dead, buried and gone. It's better is built from the scratch.

This useless buhari govt promised to build four new refineries, where are they?

Probably in his pocket and pockets of his fellow rogues.

Just like we shall always have the poor amongst us, there shall also be some foolish youths like you among the youths. So not surprised.

Nigeria is finished.

Same old refineries that has failed us over the years. What stop the Government from building new bigger and more effective refineries.

Who did this thing to us as a country to keep wasting money on failed refineries when they can build new ones even if it takes 6 years and partner with the private sector to manage it.

Nigeria why?

$1.5bn to a project which is making loses.

After including refineries in the list of items to be sold, they later approve N600bn to maintain a loss making asset.

Trump warned Nigerians about voting the incompetent and corrupt dullard for a second term. Still Nigerians voted/rigged him into power.

Now $1.5 billion dollars is going to be wasted, with majority of it ending up in the accounts of the useless fantastically corrupt clowns that rule this country.
Guy! i hate it when people says NIGERIANS voted BUHARI into power, yes some gullible and senseless minds voted for him, but i can swear with anything that under FREE and FAIR election' this man can only win maybe LOCAL GOVERNMENT CHAIRMANSHIP ELECTION, he can never on his own win presidential election in Nigeria, not possible, let's stop this NIGERIANS VOTED FOR HIM assertion, the North grabbed power from GEJ by all means knowing fully well that South is full of cowards and power-beggars, Nigeria problem as it is today is APC nor PDP, but the NORTH, they have destroyed this country with CORRUPTION, BIGOTRY and TRIBALISM, but I think the end to all these things is Near,
