Ojo Osama Abram is wanted  by the Officers of Zone 5 police command of the Nigeria Police Force at Adesuwa Grammar school Road, Benin-city in Edo State which has launched an active search for runaway members of a notorious cult.
The move comes after the security forces dismantled the cultist group christened Aye aka . The group was made up of students if the University of Benin.
According to police officials, a raid led to the arrest of John Aigbe, Lucky Osato, and Osarugue Ehkator on Wednesday, October 8. The police recovered assorted ammunition during the operation. One of the suspects is said to have escaped.
Earlier on August 28, 2014, John Aigbe was killed as his fellow gang members tried kidnapping an official of the Ogharra Local Government Council in Delta State.
Police say the lone surviving member of the cult gang is one Ojo Osama Abram from Orhiomwon Local Government Area in Edo State.
At the time an arrest warrant was issued in his name, he was resident at No. 14 Idahor Street, Upper Sakponba Road in Benin City, Edo State.
“This is part of an operation launched to track and arrest all cultists and kidnappers in the states that make up the Zone 5 police command,” said Folusho Adebando, Edo State police commissioner.
Adebando refused to react to the death in police custody of Fred Ighodaro, Lucky Osato, and Osarugue Ehkator. He however said their accomplices will be arrested immediately and served an exemplary punishment. It is not known if the corpses of the four suspects were returned to their families.
According to dependable police sources, Ojo Osama Abram is wanted haven fled after his fellow cult members were arrested on October 8 on kidnapping charges.
Osato and two others were arrested at No. 8 Idahor Street in Benin City on Wednesday, October 8, 2014. At the time they fell into the police drag net, they was in possession of assorted ammunition. The operation was carried out thanks to tip off from a rival cult group known as the eye confraternity.
On October 13, 2014, police said they failed to arrest Ojo Osama, but hinted that the noose around him has been tightened.
The runway suspect reportedly joined the cult even before he gained admission into the Department of Mechanical Engineer of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Benin. Although the police is yet to establish Ojo Osama’s role in the kidnapping cartel, it says it has evidence to support his occult ties.
Folusho Adebando, Edo State police commissioner told reporters that they will do all to stem the tides of cultism and kidnapping in Edo State
