*Ebonyi Ambassadors Movement has enshrined Prof. Afam Ituma, The Vice Chancellor, Coal City University Enugu and the Nigeria's youngest Vice Chancellor for his irrevocable commitment towards the capacity building, life long mentoring, painstaking efforts in reinvigoration and reorientation of the mindsets of the Nigerian youth in general and Ebonyi youth in particular.*


In a press release made available to newsmen online, Amb Timothy Nwachukwu, National President Ebonyi Ambassadors Movement (EBAM) enobled the Ebonyi State born University Don and Professor of Human Resources Management and described him as a beacon of Hope, a shining light, an outstanding role model whom Ebonyi and Nigerian Youths should emulate.


Amb Nwachukwu revealed that the indelible, revolutionary and intellectual imprint of Prof. Afam Icha- Ituma on Ebonyi Youths is evergreen as it has triggered a paradigm shift on the mentality of Ebonyi Youths from depending on the Government for the provision of white collar jobs to becoming creative and inspired young entrepreneurs.


Professor Afam Ituma, a nationally and internationally recognised scholar per excellence received his BSc from ESUT (Nigeria), MBA from University of Leicester (UK), and PhD from Brunel University (UK).


He served as an external examiner at the University of Manchester, University of Northumbria, University of Wales and Pan-Atlantic University (Lagos Business School) as well as a visiting Professor of Human Resource Management and Internationalisation at the University of Lincoln, he held faculty positions in the UK at Brunel University, Mountbatten Institute and Bournemouth University.



He is A Fellow of UK Higher Education Academy, A Visiting Research Fellow at Kingston Business School (UK), Visiting Scholar, GIMPA (Ghana), University of Leiden (Netherlands), Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow at the University of Lisbon (Portugal), Erasmus, Visiting Professor at the University of Kent and Linus, Palme Scholar at the University of Gavle(Sweden).



Prof. Afam is a member of the Editorial Board of Management and Organisation Review (published by Cambridge Press) and African Journal of Management and Social Sciences (published by Emerald Press),


He has published widely cited research on a broad range of people management and entrepreneurship issues in developing economies, in a number of top-tier journals.


He served as the Dean of Faculty of Management and Social Sciences, Alex Ekwueme Federal University, (AE-FUNAI), a position in which he championed effective governance, transformative teaching and multidisciplinary research in collaboration with his academic and professional service colleagues in the faculty.


As the Vice Chancellor of Coal City University Enugu, he has continued to reposition the Enugu Based Citadel of higher learning through innovative Lifelong Learning Seminar Series, Language enhancement Programme, LEP, corroboration with the respected entrepreneur cum auto giant from South East Nigeria, Dr. Innocent Chukwuma (Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing) and other world class Programs.
