2021 AFCON Qualifiers: Withdrawal Of Foreign Based Players Sign That Rohr Must Begin To Focus On Local League- Rufai

Former Nigerian goalkeeper, Peter Rufai has called on the Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr to beef up the team with some crop of home base players with the withdrawal of some of the foreign-based players from the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin and Lesotho.

Recall that Almeria’s Umar Sadiq, FC Leganes defender,Umar Sadiq, and Nantes winger, Simone Moses have been prevented by their respective clubs to honour the make or mar games due to the Covid-19 travel ban imposed by some countries in Europe.

With just a few days to the crucial games against the Squirrels of Benin and Crocodile of Lesotho, Rufai in an exclusive chat with Completesports stated that the withdrawal of some of the foreign-based players should signal the need for Rohr to focus more on Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) to search for quality players.

“It has gotten to a stage where the Super Eagles must pay attention to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) to discover players that he feels may be good for the team.

“The sudden withdrawal of some of the foreign-based players due to covid-19 travel ban is not their doing but a sign that the German tactician must focus on our league. Don’t be surprised if more players withdraw from the games because of this reason and we will be left with few players to prosecute the Benin and Lesotho games.

“I am quite delighted that he has invited a few players from the league but I just hope he will learn from this and try to include the domestic players in his team. I certainly believe Nigeria will qualify for the bi-annual tournament.”

Thank you so much Mr. Rufai, a.k.a, dodo mayana.

You see gentleman, the word of an old man, if it’s come to pass in the morning, it will definitely come to pass in the evening.

We have been warning Oga Rohr over the past one year and he and NFF refused to do the necessary things and we are seeing the results at the moment.

Even, when we had all the foreign based players available, Super Eagles were struggling to win matches, what of now that most of the key players won’t be available?

Our last match against Sierra Leone, we had all our top players around and we saw what happened at the end of the match.

Now, that we are playing away match with almost our home based players that the Gaffer terms not “good enough” to prosecute the encounters, is it guaranteed that the coach will go all out to get the result?

It is 100% assurance that the gaffer doesn’t believe in home based players and he also believes nothing good can come out of the local players and he has no confidence in them and we shouldn’t put much hope in these two encounters.

Before the match next Saturday, he may talk down the players and giving excuses as expected but the main point here is to have a solid team and it’s not about foreign based players.

It is very clear that our local coaches and ex players are better than foreign coach because we have indigenous coaches that are capable of getting the job done than Oga GR that has nothing to offer Nigeria.

We are tired of this situation and we need new coaching crew to step in and rescue Eagles after the Afcon qualifiers.

Amunike, Egbo, Marnu Gerba and Enyeama, Ikeme are the best for the job to lead the team to Cameroon.

Before doing so, NFF should have a rule and regulation in place that can prevent bad behaviors among the football family and NFF members are not excluded in this. Algerian and Senegal did it and they succeeded. Algerian coach have warned Nigeria and other African countries to stop hiring foreign managers because they are not better than ex players and the indigenous coaches.

NFF should stop the politics game they are playing with us. What are they expecting from Oga Rohr that said Nigeria is not good enough to win the world cup? Do we think he have confidence in his team that they can win the next year Afcon?

So, what is the point of wasting our time and money on Oga Rohr?

Within the short of period, Amunike, Egbo,
Marnu Gerba and Enyeama will build us a solid squad for the next year Afcon in Cameroon period. We are tired of this Oga Rohr drama period. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!.

Rorh should just call Eyimba, Rivers United, Pillars and Kwarra united to give him their best for this match

After all Cameroon came to pick players from Ifeanyi Uba and Benin republic took Thiers from Enyimba

So why can't we use NPFL players?
