I can bet my balls that half the owners are some of the crop of politheifcians peopling the current government, and the other half, northern emirs, sultans , Murics, Miyetti Allah and sundry fronts for treasury thrives.

What happened is that d so called SS militants and leaders used d predicament & suffering of their own people to enrich themselves. At no point in time was their so called struggle genuine or in d interest of d region & it's people. It's was only about enriching a few like asari, tomopolo& their likes. If people blow pipelines or kidnap oil workers it is you Nigerians who will still complain.

If you are concerned about the plight of the Niger Delta's peoples put pressure on the lawmakers from your respective ethnic nations, put pressure on your labour union, organize mass protests etc.

Those guys were simply paid off.....simple as...if you can hold the state to ransom over anything, you will get a big pay off (see bandits/kidnappers in the north).

example ; if you could build drones with bombs and drops them on select villas in also rock on a monday ---then make a demand for payment to stop attacks on weds. That money would be in your account by Friday

Our people fought a good fight and we are pleased with them.

On the contrary, it is the Nigerian state that failed to keep to her own part of the bargain, not once, not twice, not thrice, not even 10 times.

Nigeria is a country of dishonest bigots and the politicians treat the Niger Delta badly because they believe that the Nigerian masses are in support. The Nigerian masses have never done anything to make them think otherwise.

They won't because they know corruption and corrupt interests are well served. Don't worry, you will know by the display of materialism by family and friends on social media very soon.

A very simple example of the part of the bargain the Nigerian state failed to keep is infrastructure, modular refinery licenses for communities and increased participation for host communities in the upstream sector.

The reason why they are hiding the list of beneficiaries is that they know people will be unhappy.

Chief Government Ekpempulo and King Ateke Tom have done MORE as private citizens than the Nigerian state has done. None of them gets over $20 billion from the region every year, it is Buhari that gets that. You should asking him what he did with more than $120 billion in the last 6 years.

MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING...

Nothing substantive in the body of the news story justifies the deliberately INFLAMMATORY headline that the government is “hiding” the identities of the winning bidders, which indicates affirmative action instead of what appears simply a passive case of the Minister not reeling out the names of the winners. Pretty sure that after all of the letters go out and signature bonuses paid, the list of winners will become public.

business is actually less tribalized than the political space. Largest local producers are southerners: aiteo, Oando, shoreline, seplat, famfa, NDPR, Oranto, Moni Pulo, belema etc (the first 4 are by far the most developed local firms).

Northern firms of note are Sapetro (middle belt
Christian) and oriental. After that, how many northerners are really running oil production at the same level ?

Mind u a PH firm, Pelfaco, is the largest African upstream participant in Congo-Brazzaville.... there are many Igbo and Niger delta firms doing well. Many ppl get dredging jobs and other large projects to accumulate money and then branch into offshore support, oil production etc.

Alhajis are the most politically powerful, but they in no way run a monopoly.

The AKK (northern) pipeline is being done by an Igbo dude with Chinese ppl....

Go and check, if you find one Niger Delta name there, I will deactivate my NL account. There is a word known as 'precedence' in English Language.

If they don’t apply and show capacity to successfully operate such fields, why should their names automatically be there?
Not saying they didn’t, but operating licenses are not like the ‘bribery’ security contracts that made the likes of Tompolo and others filthy rich!

Who fought is not your business. That's our internal issue.

The Nigerian state failed in EVERY ASPECT and you are part of it because instead of placing the blame on your government with the power to fulfill their promises you are shifting the blame to non-state actors who would never have existed if Nigeria is not the failed state that it is.

You should ask if Nigeria is honest about how it handles issues.

Don't tell me the militant leaders or governors will be angry if oil blocs, refinery licenses etc are allotted to the region.

Stop telling yourself a lie!
