In a bid to inculcate Nigerian cultural values on its pupils, Capstoneville Nursery and Primary School, Iju, Lagos State, today held their Cultural Day event.

The event, featuring an array of diverse cultural dances, dramas and presentations of local delicacies, gave the pupils an opportunity to showcase their native attires and engage in extracurricular activities to the delight of everyone in attendance.

According to the co-director, Capstoneville Schools, Mrs Oluyemisi Bajomo, the event was organised to promote Nigerian culture among the school pupils.

"The importance of a day like this is to let our students become aware that we have culture and in Nigeria we have cultural diversity. We call it Unity in diversity and despite the many culture and language barrier we can still coexist in peace. Because if we are not careful we will completely adopt the western culture."
