Paul Onuachu has now spoken for the first time after his winner for the Super Eagles to defeat Benin 1-0 today.

He scored with a good header in the 93rd minute as the Super Eagles ended Benin’s eight-year unbeaten run at home.

Speaking after the match, Paul Onuachu said:

"I am just going to say, thanks to the nation for the push, they really pushed me to show what i have for the national team.

"I am so happy."

The Super Eagles remain top of Group L with 11 points from five games, and Benin are second with seven points.

The Super Eagles host Lesotho in their final Qualifier match on Tuesday in Lagos.

Onuachu has proved Gernot rohr to be tactically deficient. This is Nigeria's best Striker in Europe for now and you can't placed such player on the stand by list. It shows that Gernot rohr is not a good coach. He is only using Nigeria to build his CV.

I am not sure what type of jazz Rohr has done on NFA for them to keep this dinosaur of a coach in charge.

Victor Oshimen is Nigeria's sharpest striker at the moment, and the coach was not wrong to start him...
I watched the match and except for the fact that Benin had a very good keeper Oshimen should have scored two. I guess there are good days and there are bad days.

Paul Onuachu does not fit a tactic of speedy counter attacking football and that's Rohr's tactic now (he plays a tactical 5-2-3 formation that requires very mobile frontmen), the whole offence of Nigeria move very sharply which makes Oshimen a perfect striker, because that lad is as sharp as a tack.

When Onuachu comes on, he's the target man -he requires midfielders who have vision and send him homing passes and that slows the game down but gives him advantage, however speedy midfielders/wingers like Chukwueze, and Sanusi become inefficient because Onuachu is not that kind of striker, more importantly at Genk Onuachu plays with support strikers on 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 and this changes the coaching plan, I believe every coach has a plan/system that should not be distorted because of a player's preference.

What was played yesterday was perfect, Rohr is alright to me... he just needs more time with those boys.

People need to understand that Benin Republic has improved tremendously in football.

Benin Republic have become very difficult to beat. They even eliminated Morocco from the last AFCON.

Their defense is solid, and they play very compact football, so it is difficult to score goals against them.
